"For self-care today let's lay out our healthy goals for June."

1) meet my minutes goal in the exercise thread
2) avoid boredom-eating
3) start walking outdoors with my neighbor (she's a teacher and will be out of school soon)

I love June...because I love summer and every single thing about it. The way my summer is scheduled, I actually have a shot of losing instead of gaining weight. No summer vacation with all of my favorite foods to derail me. My goal is to stay on track and continue losing weight. July 12th is my work daughter's wedding, and it's quite the extravaganza. I want to look as good as possible. The more weight I lose by then the better. The wedding weekend begins with the rehearsal dinner at a country club on the beach. I have just the dress which flatters me at my current weight, but will look even better with 10 less pounds on my body. The wedding is also beach front at a very elegant location, and it is black tie, so I will be wearing my vow renewal gown from my 25th anniversary. It's a light blue floaty chiffon Cinderella vibe gown that I received many compliments on when I wore it the first time. It fits, but will flatter more with 10 less pounds. The brunch the morning after is at yet another beautiful beach location (Connecticut beaches are gorgeous), and I have not chosen my outfit. I would like to continue losing weight after the wedding, because 4 weeks later is my physical scheduled for mid-August. Hopefully being too busy with my summer job to snack on unhealthy foods will get me to a good weight so that my doctor has something positive to say. In the fall, I have another wedding. My daughter is maid of honor in two weddings, but we're only attending one because we will be on vacation in Cape Cod for the one in September. In October, we will be attending the wedding in which her boyfriend is the best man. He lives in the UK and will be staying with us for two weeks. By then, it would be nice if I have lost even more weight. It will be tricky because I will be just returning from a week in Cape Cod where I tend to put on 5 pounds eating all of my favorite treats. So the more weight I lose ahead of time, the better.

How will I accomplish this goal?

1. No cheating on my diet even though DH's birthday is in 2 weeks.
2. Swimming and water aerobics.

3. Being active with kids at Boys & Girls Club all summer

Goals for June:
-Get at least 20 mins of exercise at least 3 times a week…this will be trickier once my dance class ends and considering the pool is still not up but it’s not unattainable
-avoid boredom eating when at home…opt to be busy or consume flavored water/diet soda/gum
-practice mindfulness/meditation at least once a week

Goals for June:

- Get my step count back up. I feel like I've barely moved since coming back from vacation.
- Get signed up for at least one local group class, even if it just to go to knit night.
- Get eating back-on-track, with reductions in the big-three... dairy, sugar and gluten.

Motivation for this week... well, I'm finally back in the office. Its been three weeks so I kind of feel like I'm starting over. It is giving me my steps that is for sure, and I do really enjoy the water/boat part of the commute. And it is motivating me to be more organized about food planning, so that is good.
