Anyone ever done this? I'm considering the Magic New Year's cruise for 2019, but the prospect of visiting Key West on New Year's Day is a bit daunting. Will it be filled with rowdy people? Or maybe the rowdy ones would be in bed all day, sleeping off the night before? Would attractions still be open on the holiday?

I just looked at a few things...

Hemingway House - open 365 days/year
Conch Tour Train - open 364 days/year (closed the last Saturday in October)
Key West Trolley Tour - open 364 days/year (closed the last Saturday in October)
Key West Aquarium - open 365 days/year
Key West Key Lime Pie Co. - open 363 days/year (closed Thanksgiving and Christmas)
Kermit's - open 365 days/year (says "daily")

So it looks like as in most tourism-heavy places, pretty much everything will be open.

Wow- thanks!

You're welcome! I was already looking at the pie shops about maybe getting a gluten-free one shipped to TN for our family reunion at the end of June, so I just looked at other places. :D

Key West Key Lime Pie Co. is our favorite but I don’t know if they do gluten free.

They do. Or they did last February. I hope they still do because I like them better than Kermit's.

Same here. Kermit’s is ok but a little too “slimy” in my opinion.

We were on the 7 day Wonder that was in Key West on Jan 1, 2017. We didn't think it seemed rowdy at all. There were a couple bars that were closed, which didn't matter to us. We rode the trolley around, went to the aquarium, did a little bit of shopping near the ship. The only vaguely inappropriate things we saw were some junky souvenirs in store windows! I think it was a good day to be there, to be honest.
