key west alcohol

We are leaving this Sat on the magic and will be using the bus service. Therefore we will not be able to stop along the way to purchase alcohol. Can you buy stuff and bring it onboard in Key West to drink on the ship? Also, is it correct that you can purchase liquor on the other islands and drink it onboard? Thanks, Dani

On our recent June 19 cruise, we bought one 12-pack of beer and some alcohol in Key West. We carried it right on board without questions. In front of us there were three guys carrying several cases of beer. Disney, I think, is the only cruise line that allows this. When we did the 7-day Eastern, I bought Guavaberry rum and brought it back on board, again, no questions asked.

I am assuming that you can still bring liquor back on board and consume it. I have in the past without problems. I'm sure they don't want you carrying around a bottle and drinking on deck though. Have fun in Key West....if it's still a stop sunday.

Also remember that any opened bottle must be consumed on board by the end of the cruise. Legally, you are not permitted to take opened bottles off the ship.
