I am so sad to hear that this was such a disaster! The last time we ate there (about a year or so ago), it was pretty good, considering that it was CS. I am easy to please when it comes to food, but my DH is very picky and he liked it! When we were there, it was very busy and they still had the premade boxes stacked up like they do now. after we ate, we decided it would be a good place to come back to for a quick bite. Oh, and we thought we got a ton of food for the price! I even remember thinking that the children's taco (which my DD got) was enough for an adult meal! Now I don't think we will be heading back there after that review. It sounds like things have changed quite a bit and it really just sounds gross!

You know, now that I think about it, it's actually pretty shameful. World Showcase is exactly that - a showcase of different countries/cultures from around the world. It's pretty sad that this is how Disney chooses to represent Mexico. And we all know how good Mexican food can be (if you like it, that is). I would be embarrassed if I was a CM from Mexico and had to work here. Frankly, it's disrespectful. I know that this is CS, but there are plenty of CS places in World Showcase that are very good. It's starting to show that Disney is not focusing on their food as much as they used to. Hopefully, this will change before the "gross food plague" starts spreading to some of the other places in the World.:sad2:

is the Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe at Norway (it's opposite Akershus)

Everything is fresh fresh fresh - including the cute fresh-faced Norwegian CMs. As the official Disney dining-finder info says: "Explore this a-"fjord"-able counter-service restaurant serving a tasty assortment of Norwegian specialties, pastries, open-faced sandwiches and beer."

And you get to sit at nice little tables out back in the shade!!

perfect (:

I had some nachos from the Cantina d' Angel (Aw-Hell) last June. The nachos were "fair". Not great, not totally horrible, and they tasted "okay". And the fact that they were strewn about the box didn't really matter. Nachos always look a bit "messy" anyway.

My daugther had a cheese/chicken quesadilla (sp?) and she said it was dry. You were supposed to use salsa with it, but she doesn't care for salsa yet.

The cafe was not nearly as crowded as Kevin described, but still pretty unkept with napkins, litter, and uneaten food on the tables with a variety of ducks and birds traipsing about.

By far the most redeeming item of that meal was the Margarita! Gotta love it!

I agree, I like Taco Bell much better for half the cost!!

I gotta say, we had a quick churro and a coke there mid afternoon in the middle of February, it was a mess then too. i don't think free dining is the reason it is a mess

I have to say in epcot I have to go to the land that is the best CS!!! mmmmmmmmm!!!!

nachos that were as soggy as we were after an august rain in epcot! i have to agree with the review it was not well made. i live in Mass and we have amazing mexican dining options, it was worse than taco bell...taco bell is way better made! hahah i love the review of seating arrangements and of course DO IT AGAIN AND I AM GOING TO KICK YOU!!!

i think we will try the land for CS while in Epcot in december

I agree that Kevin was spot on. I ate here last December. The nachos were horrible, black beans like black glob, chips were the kind you get at the ballpark. Taco Bell is 100% better.

Bimbo is a HUGE brand - it is sold everywhere in Texas. You see the delivery trucks all over the place. So they a popular brand from Mexico that Hispanics purchase quite frequently.

That said, I have never liked any of the pastries. But I have found many pastries from Mexico are always dry and crumbly and aren't sugary-tasting. I think that is the way they prefer it. Even I don't love most churros - I feel like they should be more bready and less crunchy :)

I haven't ever eaten at the Mexico WS - but being from TX, I wouldn't really want to either.

(I'm only just listening today - so I just caught the Bimbo reference!)

Dude have any of yall ever orderd the hot coca from the mexico pavilion the ydont even make it for you! they hand you a cup of hot water and two packets of water.

My dad loves the nachos idk why he likes it so much i can make way better by myself at home.

oh well at least i didnt have to pay for it if it was my own money i would of jumped in the lagon and started swiming towords moroco.

We love the bakery.Their tarts:love:Everything is sooo good. It's my favorite places to grab a late night snack.

The only "good" thing we ate at the Cantina were the Churros.....the rest was pretty below average....

Another shameful "food" pit at WDW... *sigh*. I have to say, Sunshine Seasons in The Land surprised me... amazing sandwiches. I'm curious to know if anything in the WS is as tasty.

My DH wanted to get 'fresh' with the gorgeous CMs there. :rotfl: :rotfl2:

We eat at the cantina almost every trip to get a snack or drink- share the nachos, have a churro etc. We don't expect high quality, but we actually like the nachos- not our favorite, but we thought they were decent. I haven't tried much else. Then again, I am not gourmet and am known for liking junk food! :rotfl: Sorry to hear the experience was so rotten. We do hate how the line is set up and the nailed down tables. I understand the concept of nailing down the chairs etc. due to illuminations and what a mess it would be when guests move chairs around, but it is still a pain. It is usually pretty much a mess over there.

I do really enjoy sunshine season fair as someone else mentioned.

We really the counter service at the Boulangerie Patisserie (sp?) in France... they have little sandwiches and other food items and yummy desserts. It's always a stop for us on every trip. (and for some reason, it's always raining buckets when we stop in!) :confused3

I just got a chance to listen to the review. I haven't eaten there before but I know POFQ makes a nice taco salad. It's in a big taco shell, just like what Julie mentioned enjoying from other places.

We love the Tangierine Cafe in Morocco for CS. Hate the TS in Morocco, but love the CS. Go figure.

It was funny to hear the review of the cantina in the Mexico pavillion. My mother in law, wife and my self decided to do the eat around the world a few years back, I think it was the spring of 07, well of course they didn't so as much as I did, but one of the ones they did was wait to get some food at the cantina, and boy were they sorry they did, I agree with Kevin, it always seemed packed there, and after eating there I couldn't understand why. And Kevin, I think the same kid was there when we were there too, I saw a child kicking at the birds also...LOL,
