Come on Kevin.....

Will you go to Night of Joy and then give us a report?

You know you want to go. :lmao:

actually the night of joy has very good music...
i don't know how it will be at the studios, now that they've moved it, but when it was at the MK it was very good...

I suspect that Kevin would be concerned about inappropriate PDA's at this event. That's Public Displays of Adoration. :happytv:

the biggest problem with the night of joy this year is there will be 2 events at the same time at two different parks, DHS and MK.....that means that Epcot will be jammed that night (friday night)....totally jammed...anyone who's not going to the halloween party at the MK or the night of joy at the studios will have to be at epcot - which has EMH hours that night.....
i don't even want to think about how crowded it's going to be at epcot on friday night....

poor DD will be at epcot so i'm sure she'll let me know  (since i planned her touring schedule for her)...

Chris Tomlin and Casting Crowns should be good, if you like that kind of music. I do not listen to much Christian, but those are pretty good. I am not doing down 'til the end of month, so I will miss it.

A review would be both great and potentially hilarious especially if Kevin were to do it...

My question is where is the love for Christian Metal at Night of Joy? Why weren't bands like ZAO, Narnia, Rob Rock, 7Days, Seventh Power, or even the ever classic Stryper invited to play?

We went to Night of Joy about 9 years ago. In fact, it was the very first time that I'd ever been to WDW. We saw Michael W. Smith, and he was awesome. However, I was WAY off on my thinking regarding what the crowds would be like. I figured that of all the people that were visiting WDW, about 2 of them would admit to liking Christian music. And, I was probably right, because the buses were empty. The parking lot wasn't, though. I didn't take into account that every youth group in Florida was going to be there. It was tons of teenagers unchaperoned. That's always a great combination. The only way I'd ever return is if the tickets were free.

NOJ has great music, if you like that genre!

I LOVE many of the artist but agree with MADI that it can be horrible with all the teens! It is a very popular thing for church youth groups to attend.

We are local and went every year until we had too many kids and had no more family volunteering to keep 4 kids over night! LOL! But the last year I went, 2005, it was bad. We were on the HM and the kids were getting off and doing idiot things and the ride was stopped multiple times till we were all told to leave! Some how my friend and I got in the middle of a big group of kids that were causing the problems.

We also have a family friend who works in MK security and it is one of the highest theft rates they have all year!

Horrible! :sad2:

I also think that having it at DHS is gonna be a disaster. Basically you got RNRC, TOT, GMR, TSM and your main rides. Those lines are gonna be horrible!

this is the point - the people who attend the night of joy are not the people who are staying at WDW - for the most part..

so on friday night - the MK will be closed to everyone but halloween party people..
and the studios will be closed to everyone but night of joy people...

so that leaves only epcot open on friday evening....so it's going to be BAD...

so i suggest that anyone at WDW on that friday night, might consider going somewhere else......universal.....etc...

DD is going to be at epcot - she has an ADR at epcot that evening..
i hope it's not so crowded that it makes it unpleasant....it's also EMH at epcot that evening...

Hopefully you're missing the crowd that will go to Animal Kingdom and have an early night of parks. When we go to Animal Kingdom we don't go to another park when that park closes. We just have an early evening and enjoy our resort or Downtown Disney. Also, a big chunk of people will go to Magic Kingdom for the Halloween party. At least it's during a time where the parks aren't packed, it is value time. Here's hoping that it is not too busy for your DD.

Unfortunately, I believe I will be out of town.

But I do love Mandisa and wouldn;t mind hearing her.

AK won't be open when MK and DHS are closed.
Animal Kingdom closes at 5 PM. Don't you think people will want to do something - anything - after 5 pm?

That's friday night. I'm assuming a lot of people will want to be in a park Friday evening. Any park. And if they haven't bought a hard ticket for MK or DHS, the only park that will be open to them is Epcot.

I have to agree that is really bad planning. Hopefully they will all be packing or shopping at DTD before thier flight home. It is scary to think only 1 park will be open to the public.:scared1:

I'm TRYING :) to make it be good for you. Chances are, you are right. But, seriously, when I do my planning, I don't look at the days of the week when I'm on vacation. They're all Fridays. On the days we go to Animal Kingdom, we have an early day and enjoy the rest of the day at our resort or have a nice dinner afterwards. We usually don't hit another park. And, people will still be able to go Magic Kingdom, just not late. The party doesn't start until 7, right?

I'll be anxious to hear just how busy it is. That does stink for anyone not taking part in those two events, because they are limited for that evening. Be sure to let us know how the crowds are. What a bummer.

As a fan and promoter of Christian music, I'm asking you politely to never mention the name Stryper again. Thank you. (lol, totally just kidding!)

I thought I saw Red on the list, give them a shot by the way.

Come on man Stryper must not be denied Soldiers Under Command and To Hell With The Devil are classic LOL

Seriosuly though have you heard those other bands that I mentioned? ZAO is more like Hardcore/Metal and heavy very heavy comparatively but the others are straight up Power or Progressive metal and quite enjoyable..Especially Narnia and Rob Rock. Christian music/lyrics is far from being my style but I am a brother of true metal and can appreciate any type of metal no matter the lyrical content, therefore if Red is heavy or even hard rock I'll check them out. As I said metal has no bounds and is right up there with Disney as the two most beloved things in my life other than my DW of course.
