Kevin I just heard your review of the Bonefish Grill and I was happy that you and John enjoyed it that much. I had forgot that I even suggested that you review it, so I can't believe you remebered after 2 years. Finally here are some of their other locations we have seen because you all talked about where else they are located besides the State of Florida. There is one we eat at when staying in Lexington, Kentucky when driving to WDW along I-75 and we also saw one north of Cincinnati which is also off I-75. Now there are no locations in Canada, however there is one located in Buffalo and their website says that's the closest location for me.

C R Resort Fan 4 Life, thanks for suggesting the review, and thanks Kevin and John for eating there! Now I really want to try Bonefish Grill- we have them here in NC. There is one close to us, but we never tried it- we thought it would be stuffy and expensive, too. I think we will try it this weekend- the Bang Bang Shrimp sound AMAZING!!

I, too, enjoyed the review! There are only 4 in NYS and one is 10 minutes from me - love it! And, CR Resort Fan 4 Life: {waving from across the lake}. If you ever go towards Rochester, there's one about 1 mile off the thruway on the eastside in Victor at Eastview Mall!

We love Bonefish Grill.

Found the one on Sand Lake Road quite by accident when we were taking my Mom to Barnes & Noble.
It was love at first bite :lovestruc and DH, Dino, said they had some of the best calamari he'd ever eaten. I loved how they wrapped the lemon wedges so you didn't get seeds squirted onto your food :thumbsup2

A few years ago, they finally opened one here in the Buffalo area. It always takes me back to Orlando when we go there :goodvibes

Kevin I forgot to mention we have also been to the locations at The Loop and along Sand Lake Road. We also went to another one located in the Winter Garden Shopping Village. To find that one we drive past the Contemporary and go behind the Magic Kingdom. Also sometimes when you recieve your reciept it will ask you to go online to fill out a survery and you will get a coupon for a free Bang Bang Shrimp. However it's a random survey so not everyone will get that part on their reciept. This past December we had dinner at the one in the Winter Garden Shopping Village and got the thing to fill out the survery. Now it just so happened that we were starting to drive back home the next day and I think you have 30 days to do the survey along with brining in the coupon to get the free Bang Bang Shrimp. So because we didn't want it to be wasted we gave the survery part of the reciept to a family sitting at the table right next to us. So the next time you eat there look at your reciept to see if you get the survery.

I'm really glad to hear that Kevin and John liked Bonefish Grill. There's one near me that opened about a year or two ago in Paramus, NJ. It's always a terrific meal, the tilapia in particular is incredible!

I haven't listened to the review yet but we have a Bonefish grill by us we really like it. Even though it's a chain, it doesn't feel that way. Prices are decent and quality is good. Can't wait to listen to what Kevin and John thought of it.

I agree about the "it doesn't feel like a chain" part.

I haven't listened to the podcast yet, but the Bonefish here in Sarasota - a town PACKED with seafood restaurants - gets rave reviews from me.

I took my Mom there for Mother's Day (almost a year ago ! sheesh !) and it was as close to a perfect restaurant experience that we've ever had.

Even though they were swamped, the service was perfect, the food incredible, and as the sun was setting the background music changed into a sort of mellow jazz while the colored lights slowly came on on the surrounding plants, making for a very interesting mood that we both enjoyed. Almost Disney-like, in a way.

And PS... I have SUCH a good joke about the Bang Bang shrimp that I can't share here....:lmao:

I was also glad to hear the positive review of Bonefish Grill. I have one 2 miles away, and another one 2.3 miles away from the house, and always seem to end up there eating at the bar at one or the other when I have a night to myself for dinner. The ceviche is excellent, I've found, and they make a good mojito.

I haven't heard the Podcast yet, but here's another vote for Bonefish Grill! Good stuff; they're hard to get into around here (we have 2 here in Columbus).

Sayhello

There's a Bonefish Grill right here in my suburb just north of Chicago, literally 5 minutes from me. And no, this doesn't feel like a chain the way Olive Garden and Red Lobster feel like chains.

I rarely go there, but now I'm in the mood to try the Bang Bang Shrimp. (Although I want to add Chitty Chitty in front of that for some reason.)

My husband cannot get enough of the BFG! I do not love dining out but always enjoy our time in the relaxed atmosphere with great food :)

This sound cool.

I'm not familiar with the area (only being there once before), but, can anyone tell me which location is closest to Sheraton Vistana Resort? We'll be going in August and this sounds like a good place to take the kids out for dinner.

I just did a quick google to make sure but the one that is closest to Vistana would be the one in the Dr Philips area on Sand Lake Road. Here is the address
7830 W. Sand Lake Rd., Orlando, FL 32819
But only a couple of miles farther is the one Kevin talked about on Osceola Parkway
2699 W. Osceola Parkway, Kissimmee, FL 34741

Just listened to the review. The Tokyo ahi tuna is what I get every time. It is my fav! I think they've just made it to the east fairly recently. We live in PA and ours just opened within the last 3 years.

We have a couple of them here in Jacksonville and we love to eat there.

Their martinis are awesome!!!! Try the pomegranate, it is delicious as is the lemon drop. Yummy!

Also, the bang bang shrimp tacos are awesome. It seems like it's double the shrimp of the appetizer.

Our closest Bonefish does an excellent job with steak and pork as well. I have a friend who likes her steak very well done. She ordered it there and said that she had never had a more tender steak. I believe that they butterflied it. My mom ordered the pork chops they had on the menu and had to bring most of it home. The portions were huge.

Ours gets very crowded so we often call ahead. It's definitely recommended to do so.

We have a Bonefish Grill in one of our malls here in Rochester. I'll have to give it a try sometime. I just learned that the Bonefish Grill is part of a group that also owns Outback and Carrabba's - two other restaurants that we really like. So now I'm even more curious to try it.

We just went for the second time last night here in NJ and our meal was wonderful. Our 4 year old seemed a little aprehensive untill we ordered, he then said he wanted the fish but could he have it without the bones? The name totaly confused him! Afetr he discovered we were not going to make him eat boney fish he was very excited!

We have one within a mile of our house, yet we have never tried it. Our friends had told us that it was a restaurant geared towards adults. My dh's boss actually gave us a gift certificate for Christmas and we hadn't got around to using it yet.

After listening to Kevin's review we decided to give it a try last night. It was my eldest daughter's birthday and she is a big seafood lover. I went online and printed out the menu to make sure everyone could have a look and get an idea of what they would order.

We arrived at 5pm because we were still apprehensive about bring our children. The manager/owner greeted us at the door and explained they would have to get a table together for us since they didn't have large tables ready. My daughter spoke up and told her that it was her birthday and she had picked the restaurant. The manager told her she could have an order of bang bang shrimp on the house!

We got to the table and the manager came back around and started talking to my daughter again. She told her to make sure NOT to share her shrimp. My daughter said how she wanted the special (which was shrimp), but now she would have to look over the menu. The manager explained that the menu and specials haven't been changed on their website in two years! She said that they had to pay to update their menu and prices on the Bonefish website and she didn't think anyone used it.

Imagine when I picked up the menu and saw how much more the restaurant items cost at my town in WA compared to Orlando! None of the specials were under $20! And I had all my other children asking for their own appetizers now that the birthday girl was getting one!

Luckily we happened to come during happy hour, so I encourged the kids who wanted appetizers to team up with a sibling and order three apps. and share rather than order an entree.

I ordered a house salad and the coconut shrimp app. for myself in an effort to keep costs down. The happy hour cost for the shrimp was still over $8 and consisted of 6 medium/small shrimp. The dipping sauce was delicious though!

My daughter loved her bang bang shrimp, but couldn't eat her chicken pud thai.

It took awhile for us to get our food. We were there for almost 2 hours and the place was packed! We were the only family with kids there!!! My kids are older, thank goodness, but it did make my husband and I uncomfortable. We even got a couple of looks from other tables.

The food was excellent, but with hungry tweens/teenagers we couldn't afford to satisfy everyone. My son had the chicken pud thai and complained that he should have had an appetizer too because he wasn't full after completing his entree.

The gift certificate hardly made a dent in our bill. Plus my husband was not pleased with me because of the adult atmosphere and menu prices.

I think we will keep this place in mind for date nights, but I doubt I'll take the kids again.

It's funny that you should post this....

We had dinner there the other night and at the table next to us was a mother, her two adult daughters and their six kids all under the age of 10.

The kids were amazingly well behaved.

Looking back at the menu, the only item over $20 was "pompano piccatta" with most things in the $10 - $15 range. John had fish and chips for $10.90 and couldnt finish the amount of food served.

This was at the Loop location in Kissimmee.

I'm sorry that your experience wasnt what you expected.
