From his Stouffers Mac and Cheese to the Masterlocks he purchased for the Paris ABD trip, It seems Kevin or the team usually mention PUBLIX on almost every other show.

Living in NJ we have SHOPRITE/STOP &SHOP as supermarkets.

Was wondering what exacting is this PUBLIX?

The team especially Kevin seems to travel to it quite often.

Publix is one of the main supermarket chains in the area. Honestly, there's really nothing terribly special about it (although I keep hearing their fried chicken is excellent). We do shop there whenever we're in town but I'd take Wegman's over Publix any day.

Coming from Plymouth MA originally I'm very familiar with Stop & Shop supermarkets. Publix is a very good supermarket chain here in FL. We frequent our local store several times a week. I'd rate them somewhat better than S&S.

They're the biggest and most prolific grocery chain in the area; I haven't really found another grocery store around here save for Goodings unless you count the box stores like Super Target (Windermere- Winter Garden). They're also known for their customer service. Coming from TX, I hadn't heard of them- we had Albertson's , Kroger's, & Tom Thomb.

Publix had been a good chain for a while now ...they were good when I lived in the area 25-years ago. It seems like they are even better now. Like Jeff, we have Stop & Shops in this area -unfortunately many in this area have gone downhill drastically!

When I lived in FL, our main markets were Publix and WinnDixie...although, there were a couple others. I preferred Publix, but after living in Texas for the last 19+ years, I'll take my Signature Kroger and HEBs over Publix. However, I do really enjoy the frosting Publix uses on their bakery cakes. LOL Lived in NJ and NY before going to FL...had ShopRite and Pathmark in NJ and the wonderful Wegmans in NY.

Wegmans is great ...would you say Kroger is nicer? Wegmans is starting to move into the Northeast, but not close enough to me.

I was in Syracuse, NY for four years and we had Wegmans up there. I liked Wegmans a lot, but it's also been a good 20 years since I've been to one (yikes! feeling old!). I LOVE my Kroger. I know Kroger varies between states, but the signature ones here are really great. My parents now live in FL and frequent Publix and WinnDixie at home, but say our Kroger trumps them both.

We live in South Jersey. We've had Wegman's for a number of years now and it's pretty much the only place I'll shop. They blow everyone else out of the water on prices, the stores are very nice, and the selection is great. Plus their in-store cafe is a great place for lunch on the go or a casual dinner. Publix is fine but it's basically just a plain old supermarket.

I live in NC. We have Harris Teeter, Kroger, Lowe's Food, Food Lion, IGA, Piggly Wiggly, and specialty stores like Fresh Market, Whole Foods. Also Farmers' markets every where you turn. Publix has just moved into the area, and people are going nuts over it. I have yet to go, but am very curious. Still haven't found a chain that I like enough to go every week, but maybe Publix will be it for me?

If you are shopping at any of the Publix near Disney, they cater to tourists and are very different than the neighborhood stores.
Ah. I didn't know that. I've been to a number of Publix locations within about 5-10 miles of Disney so I guess those are the "tourist" ones. I've been to some outside of the Disney area elsewhere in Florida but I couldn't tell you exactly where. I know there's one along I-4 not far from 95 (Deltona maybe) and then another we've stopped at going north on 95 to grab snacks, but those were also just regular stores.

We'll have to check out some of the non-touristy ones sometime. We're those weird types who actually like doing stuff like that when we're on vacation. How far from Disney do we need to get to find the non-touristy locations?

The Publix at Cornerstone in Summerport is actually pretty close to Disney, but its not in a tourist area. That's the Publix we go to all the time.
