saw a website for this little plastic disc looking thing that says you can reuse your k cups. I just got my machine today, and love it! I don't drink enough coffee to justify brewing a whole pot, but still like it. So this is perfect for me. But....just wondered about this product. It's like $10 for two, but you can reuse them forever. Not quite sure how it works though. Anyone have any experience with this?

I've seen that one. But the one I am talking about you can actually reuse the k cups themselves. Get more brews out of one.

We have large Disney mugs (12/14 oz) and only buy the extra bold varieties of k-cups and then run the machine thru each k-cup twice. What we do, is run the smallest (6oz) thru, then pull out the k-cup and give it a shake or two and put it right back in the Keurig lining up the puncture and run thru another 6 oz. It is totally fine for us. Of course, I wouldn't try that with a blend less than bold. I don't know of this disc you mention.

I just googled, and found this one:

http://www.my-kap.com/MYK/

but it sounds like you still have to use your own coffee to refill the cup, then you put these caps on it so it works like a new k-cup. It doesn't sound like you actually get to reuse the coffee in the cup, just the cup itself as a container for YOUR coffee.

I don't have experience with these, as I'm (hopefully) getting my keurig in three days (whoo hoo), but I'm curious as well...

we have the reusable one that I can use my own coffee in. dh bought it off ebay.

Why buy the machine if you intend to spend time peeling off tops and washing out Kcups? Would rather brew a pot if it came down to reusing Kcups.:confused3

I once started to brew a cup using a Kcup that DH had left by the machine thinking he'd left it out for me. Unfortunately it was a used one he didn't throw out. What a mess it made. The puncture holes didn't line up, and it spewed coffeee and grounds all over. Will never make that mistake again. No reused cups for me!

I have the kcaps. they work great, you use your own coffee, just make sure that the bottom hole lines up with the needle in the bottom. I am a maxwell house lite fan. I still use the other kcups depending on my mood.

We brew from the same k-cup about 3 times (like things weak). We have the entire plastic k-cup that you fill with your regular grounds and like that very much. Don't think I would use just the lid thing. I think it would be a hassle for me. Like the other one tho.

I use the kcap all the time. I have the other Kuerig filter too but it became a hassle to pop out and replace the whole cup piece. Mostly the replace side...on occasion I'd forget and lovely teenage DD wouldn't notice and put regular kcup in filter contraption which obviously doesn't puncture. OH what a mess! That said on the downside for kcap is the paper filter inside kcup does wear out after a few uses so if you don't pay attention youu'll get a cup of grounds...its matter of which is worse to you

I know all these replies have been positive, but.......

We tried the k cap. It leaked coffee all the time no matter how we put the cap on. Tried different grinds and different amounts of coffee. Nothing worked.

Also tried the keurig one you fill with your own coffee and same results. Leaks. My sister-in-law uses it in her Keurig and they love it. Maybe its just us :confused3

We have the cap things and reuse the Kcups. It is much easier to deal with then taking out and washing out the MyKcup thing.

I will say that the caps seem to fit different brands of the K-cups in different ways. I've had a couple brands where I couldn't get the cap on the cup. On others they work fine?? Don't know why there would be such a difference between brands, but there is.

It is also convenient that you can make up 3 of the reused K-cups with the caps and put them in the little K-cup carousel thing. Then in the morning you just have to put it in! No messing with the MyKCup before you are fully awake!!

I also feel a little less guilty about the landfill space when we reuse the Kcups once.

You should be able to get the MyKcup thing at Kohls and use a 30% coupon. Aren't they normally around $15??

In my experience this is happens when it is too full, the water pressure forces the grinds up and over the top.

Yes, I've seen even our local grocery store has them for $14.99, or $14.56 on amazon.

I have yet to buy the Keurig coffee maker but I was looking into these as DH loves his cheap ol' maxwell house but I wanted to try some of the fun varieties in flavors.

I'll bump this once. we use the Kcaps and love'em. the gold screen my keurig thing is a big hassle. have to remake and clean it every time. with kcaps you can make a "batch" of kcups with what ever coffee you want to and they are ready to go AND CHEAP.

I think they're genius. :goodvibes

Ewww... I'd never re-use a Kcup. The inside of them is just like a 'paper' coffee filter. Would you re-use a traditional coffee filter? All I can think of is all the potential germs. Gross, no thanks!

I have the traditional My Kcup but rarely use it because it defeats the purpose of having a clean, worry-free, 1-2-3 system.

Brewing multiple cups out of the same k-cup makes for really weak coffee. If you want to try it just reuse the same k-cup. I do this because I like a 14 oz cup of coffee from each k-cup. I brew an 8 oz first open and close the Keurig and then brew a 6 oz. Anything more than that and the coffee gets ridiculously weak.
