Kentucky Clerk Kim Davis found in contempt, going to jail

Well, someone's surely getting the reactions they're after. That appears to be the main motivator at this point. Subtle group insults must be the in thing this fall. Wonder what's gonna happen when they become a two way street? I bet it will no longer be ignored.

Something else the lynch mob in here have all missed. The title of this thread is outdated and incorrect. Kim Davis is no longer in jail.
/QUOTE]

So what? She was in jail when the thread started. Contrary to your insult of our intelligence above, people are perfectly capable of reading and understanding that she has since gotten out of jail.

You do not play the martyr well. Lynch mob? Quite the contrary. This board has treated you exceedingly kindly. And what you are giving in return is insults, refusing to acknowledge anything that disagrees with you and refusal to engage an any legitimate give and take discussion whatsoever. And again your signs mean absolutely nothing. Anyone can put up any sign they want. It doesn't mean they're legally allowed to do it. We don't even know where or when they were taken.

I'm firmly convinced that dinolounger is, at this point, just messing with everyone. Nobody, and I really mean nobody, could post those pics as any kind of "proof" of any of her ridiculous claims. And seriously, come on, who really cares whether the thread title is updated? Someone has been bored lately and having some (odd) fun on this thread. :rotfl:
True and as am home sick and bored as well, it's at least entertaining

The only one that may be legally enforceable is the first one as it appears to be at a house of worship. And their religious rights to worship as they wish in their Temple would be upheld.
Actually, it looks like a market selling lulavim (palm fronds) and other traditional items for the Jewish holiday of Sukkot (which occurs in a few weeks). It might be operated by a synagogue or congregation, but judging by the variety of clothes, I think not. Or maybe it's a congregation that arranged for outside sellers.

I'm not sure why they would choose to restrict women, unless they were either planning services at some point or perhaps the sheer density of the crowd created an immodest environment. But I'm not Orthodox, so there may be some other reason.

The bakery made birthday cakes for the couple and had no problem doing so. They denied the wedding cake for religious beliefs. What I don't understand, why force someone to provide something (especially food), who doesn't want your business? (visions of Minny's "Chocolate Pie") I would NEVER dream of suing, but I wouldn't spend another dime in their establishment. I wouldn't recommend their bakery either.

it's the same thread after thread.

Neither of those two situations are fact. Muslim woman drive and attend colleges, not sure where you got your information from. Extremists claiming to be Muslim are a different story

There are many Muslim men that believe in and carry out restrictions on women driving in many countries.

Just like there are many extremist Christians here that do not want gay folks to have the same rights as everyone else.

So, the question still stands: If a man working/at the helm in the DMV would deny women a license, would you support him (for his religious beliefs) the same way you would support The Kentucky Lady for her religious beliefs?

This is a YES or NO question. Yet, the supporters of The Kentucky Lady refuse to answer it.

She/he took the time to post those silly pictures, but still won't answer the question if a DMV worker has the right to deny licenses to women. Funny.

My comment was directed to this comment from Dinolounger "And what you are missing (or possibly trying to obscure because of the blatant, obvious and embarrassing double standard) is the fact the Federal Government says Muslims can refuse to perform duties when employed by the government or private enterprise based on their faith, but Christians can't."

I'm curious Dinolounger believes that a public school would allow a Muslim principal to order all teachers to refuse to teach girls.

[B[Or if they think that it would be ok for a Muslim Sectretary of State[/B] to order all DMV employees to refuse drivers licenses to women.

That is what Kim Davis was doing. She was ordering her employees to abide by her religious beliefs.

Are you referring to Kerry or Hillary? ;)

Sadly, I'm not so sure. I know people in real life that have posted similar things on their Facebook pages.

It is entertaining though.
