Ok..ok...I know I have a ton of questions and I promise I tried to search.

We ditched the bikes and decided to book the golf cart from Kenny. I thought someone said there was a special place to back it up and unload but I can't find the thread.

And a random question...We still need a stroller and I'm too cheap to rent one. Anyone tried tying one to their roof rack? We will also have a full "bag" tied to the roof and absolutely no room in the car. Is it crqzy to put it ubder the roof bag and bungee it to the roof racks?

First, no onsite place to unload a cart from the back of a truck. That was me thinking I saw a "burm" in years past. My understanding (haven't rented from Kenny) is you meet Kenny offsite and drive his truck/trailer to the Fort and unload from the trailer. I imagine it has a drop down ramp and you just drive the cart off.

And if the stroller fits under the bag and won't scratch up your roof, that's where I'd put it. Probably a better spot than on top of the bag. Not sure if your stroller is one of the tank/Cadillac models the size of a large suitcase or one of the little fold up umbrella strollers. We always took the umbrella stroller because I didn't want to lug around the big one.

Wish I pick of our car before heading down to the Fort a couple years ago, it looked like the Beverly Hillbillies without the rooking chair and granny. We have tied everything that would not fit into our Rav on the roof rack. Everything from the tent, outside carpet, umbrella stroller, coolers, ez-up, mickey light and even a fifty pound bag of potatoes, covered it with a tarp and used ratchet straps to secure the bigger items and then on of those cargo nets to secure the tarp so it doesn't flap around in the wind. Everything held in place, only down side was we weren't able to use the sun roof.

Lol. Yall make me feel better. I guess it's the tie it down Beverly hillbillies route!

Never taken a cart off a cart so I'm I going off this!

Where are you driving from? I just bought two brand new hard-sided car toppers and only keeping one of them. There is a woman around here who buys pallets of merchandise new-in-box, like discontinued or something. Anyway, I bought one for $25 that retail $180. The following week, she had one for $40 that retailed for $300. I liked the later one better, so it is on my van. You are welcome to the other if you pass through Lake City, FL at any time. You would already need the cross bars as they don't come with those. They are specific to your vehicle.

I have never rented from Kenny before (my trip in November, though, I have one reserved). That said, however, there are more than enough folks here that HAVE rented. I am SURE, it's an easy on/off from their trailer, because as you can imagine, there are probably people renting these who are very savvy with dealing with Trucks, trailers, towing, loading and unloading, and there are folks who can barely drive a car that are renting these things.

They want to make it as SIMPLE as they possibly can, so I am sure they have it down to a science and that you will have no issues.

We are renting from Kenny in a few days. This will be our first experience with them. So far the support from Tee-Time has been excellent. You will be given instructions a few days before your reservation begins as to where to pick up the cart. I believe they allow you 1 hour to pick up the cart off-site and return their tow vehicle back to them. The pickup location is a 10 minute drive from the Fort. Tee Time (Kenny's) will first schedule anybody returning carts to them and then they schedule the pickups. Our pickup time is 11am, so you might want to keep that in mind as you schedule your activities for the day.

This is such great news! We rented from him years ago when he was still able to deliver to the fort and I was disappointed we wouldn't be able to rent one again! I'm calling him in the morning!

I'm a newbie here and just noticed this thread. If I read correctly, Kenny works at Tee Time? I had posted in another thread and now I read this thread and believe I have an answer. I thought if you rented from Tee Time you were responsible for picking up the cart in your own vehicle and returning in your own vehicle and they would just supply the trailer in which the cart gets transported in. I have a class A so you can imagine the difficulty in this. If I understand this correctly, Tee Time supplies you with the pick up as well to tow the cart to the Fort and then return their vehicle and trailer when you're done. The only thing you would need is to get to Tee Time and get back from there. Is this correct?

TIA.

Well they have a "Meeting" point that, as I understand it, is only a short distance from the Fort, but it is NOT at Tee Time. (I suppose that could be an option if you wanted it too.)

They will do "Either" as well. If you have your own Tow Vehicle with a 2" ball on it, you can just take the trailer to bring the cart in. Of course then, you need to return the trailer as well. Otherwise, they will let you take their Truck (with the trailer attached) to drop it off. Again, you will have to bring the Truck and Trailer Back as soon as the Cart is unloaded.

They allow you an "Hour" to Load (or unload) the cart, which by all indications, is more than enough time.

We have rented from Kenny twice and are booked again this year. Sometimes you get lucky and someone is leaving the day you arrive and you just get the cart from them or at a spot in the Fort. Last year we met Kenny's guy close by on Vineland road and drove his truck and trailer back to the Fort. He insisted on this to save time unhooking and hooking. Took about an hour round trip total. He has a Ford F250 and a 12 foot trailer with a drop gate on the back. It's simple to back the cart off the trailer.

If you have help you could just enter thru the back gate into the overflow lot and drop the cart off with your spouse there and run the truck and trailer back. That would save about 15 minutes driving all the way to your site.

How would you get in the overflow lot? Isn't it "Gated"? (albeit automatic at least for outbound.... What about inbound?)

Your magic band opens the gate.
I did not know that.

That's good to know though. Although now that I think about it, it doesn't really matter. You could come in the normal front gate and just go over to the Overflow lot from there too and drop it off with a spouse/friend/helper to accelerate the process. :)

Peg I always enter and exit that way that just like the buses. Saves some time if there's a back up at the guard area.

This, plus it doesn't bring the trailer and cart to the security guards direct attention as you come in.

Using the magic band and using the "back gate" is how we always come and go even if not swapping out carts.

I always thought that it was only for the uses of the WDW transportation (at least to come in). Live and learn I guess.

I actually tried entering through the back gate, in September, but my magic band did not work for me.

You guys are amazing!

We are really think the cabins at The Fort will be our next trip for our family of 6 . I just spoke to tee time today and got an amazing price quote for a 6 seater golf cart. We would need to use their truck as we will be driving down in a van with out a hitch . So we have never been to FW where would I find the address to the back gate ?Would this work ? I would do pre check in and go with Hubby in our van to follow the truck . Hubby could pick up the truck and cart and our 19 year old could be waiting in the back over flow lot . We could unload turn right around and take the truck back . Can you tell me what is The latest time they let you pick up ? We plan on stopping on the way to spend a little time at USS Yorktown in SC . So we would not be living Mount Pleasent SC until 1:00 or 2:00 pm .
