Kennedy Space Center

Has anyone recently been able to get complimentary Kennedy Space Center tickets from their Congressmen? Trying to figure out a way to visit KSC without breaking the bank as we'll be staying in Disney. Undercover Tourist is only a $4 discount. Thanks.

I got them from ours out here in Washington this year. I did it right at the 6 months before our trip date which i believe is the first date they are able to ask for them at. Worked just great we leave next week and are visiting the space center on February 15th..

Thanks....I just e-mailed ours. But we are going first week in May so it might be too late. My DS7 would be over the moon excited to visit-he wants to be a NASA engineer! I hope we can get some complimentary tickets This Disney trip is supposed to be a budget trip-ha ha ha!

I got mine! I live in Nevada and requested them about a month ago for our June trip. I got an email from my congressman's aide telling me it was approved and they will send us the details a month before we go.

We contacted our congressman here in Michigan and his aide told us that they do not provide tickets for KSC.

Cape Canaveral Air Force Station has a free tour and museum. Just search for the Air Force Space and Missile Museum. I've been to the museum, you get to go inside the blockhouses and firing rooms at some of the old launch pads.

Does anybody have a sample of letter of their request they would mind sharing. I have tried twice before and was not even able to receive a reponse from my elected official! I need to be asking now for my 6 month trip in August.

I emailed and I also sent the same letter Old School "mail" and I recieved a phone call in a week they were working on it. Another week went by and then right at the 6 months part I received a email confrimation of the dates and phone call checking in with me.

On your Congressman web site is there a person in charge of tours? Since many people ask there congressman for special tours of Washington DC?

Thank you for all the help. Just heard from our Congressmens intern and our application is in process. He said he will be in touch in a few weeks. Fingers crossed it works! Next step- cheap daily rental car from Disney!

Having a conversation with my local congresswoman's office staff. Even with the info provided they are not following and are trying to make reservations with the Kennedy Center in DC...

I checked with our Congressman 7 months in advance last year and at 6 months out I got a confirmation for them. His aide in DC called and emailed me several times and also told me the different tickets available for Washington DC .

I found out about it from the cruise board - lots of people try to schedule the day they get off the boat.

I called our local office and they gave me the contact for my Congressman's assistant in DC and I called him directly and he followed up via emails and phone calls.

Unfortunately the intern just got back to me and said they are booked up through June and have no more complimentary tickets so they couldn't schedule our tour. BUMMER!! At least I tried, I guess.

I just learned today that I am getting my tickets for August 4th! Thanks for the help with the letter writing. The third time was the charm. Can't wait!

I used Jim McDermott since he is ours. From his website there is link to tours I used that and followed up with a letter in the mail. I received a phone call back they were working on it so I'm not sure if the website or email were the trigger. Good Luck. We go Friday..
