We are going this Friday with our 9 and 4 year old girls. As a faithful disboards fan, I have to do some itinerary pre-planning, I can't help myself!! It sounds like there are so many exhibits and we are only doing one day. What things at KSC are a must see?

Thanks everyone!

My 9 year old loves KSC! Shuttle Experience ride is her favorite. 0.:hippie::dance3::flower3:, Smilies added by DD.

Mad mission to Mars is very entertaining. DH was picked to be the volunteer, great family exp. The bus ride is ok, but if their is alot of people it will take a while to get on the bus and you will spend most of the day touring the outside of KSC. Just a note you do not have to get off the bus on all the stops. If its a hot day skip the 1st stop because it is outdoors.
Have a great day!!

The bus tour was included in the gate admission price as was the Astronaut Hall of Fame (located up the road a mile or so).

The bus had 3 stops. The day we were there, it did not stop at its usual first stop due to the planned shuttle launch.

We enjoyed the shuttle launch experience and should have gotten there earlier in the day so that we could view the Imax shows. I did not realize that they close around 5 to 5:30.

It's a really enjoyable and educational day out. For 9 and 4 year olds, do at least one of the IMAX movies...and make sure you get there early to do the bus tour as it does take a lot of time. Well worth it though.

Everything is inclusive unless you decide to do something like "lunch with an astronaut". We almost did that through the company we rent from but decided not to on our first trip, we might next time.

Thanks for the tips, can't wait! With the Apollo exhibit celebration on Thurs, it will probably be still busy on Friday but really cool. Anyone know how long the Imax movies are?

Transportation to KSC...

Do people normally rent a car to get out there?
Or are there other means...Just thought I would ask.

Just out of curiousity....what BUS company did you use? Grayline>?

The space center has its own buses. You go through the admission gates and walk through the first building and then walk to the waiting buses from there.
