Kennedy Space Center Tour Companies

My DH and DS want to visit Kennedy Space Center for an upcoming launch - I see there are a number of companies offering tours and was wondering if anyone has had experience with any of them? THe ones I have found are All Orlando Tours, Viator, and Kennedy Space Center TOurs. Thanks

You can do it cheaper if you get your launch tickets on your own. Make sure you're calling non-stop beginning promptly at 9:00 when they go on sale. The tickets for the causeway (best ticket) go very quickly, but if you have an annual pass you have a much greater chance of getting this ticket. On launch day the place is packed, so we generally go do all of the KSC activities the day before the launch.

They do allow you to bring in your own food, drink and even your own chair. The chairs have to be those collapsable ones that fit in a bag.

This is really a great experience. We've been to two and the kids still want to go again.

Thanks Janet - I was wondering about doing it that way - we won't have a vehicle when we are at WDW so was thinking that a bus tour might be the way to go - will have to look into renting a vehicle - is it difficult to get to Kennedy - what is the traffic like?

Getting there was not too bad, because they have staggered entry times. Getting back is a nightmare. When going traffic backs up about 9miles from KSC and you think you'll never make it. However, they check credentials before the bridge so this isn't as bad as it first seems. Once you get to the bridge you get in pretty quickly.

Last time we went I got through for the tickets at 9:40 and the causeway tickets were gone. I asked if they were still available for annual passholders and we were able to get the "good" tickets.

If you do get causeway tickets, you go out there a few hours before the launch and there is nothing to do out there, but bake in the sun. My kids took their Gameboys (these are allowed). We also took a backpack with plenty of waters(some frozen which were thawed well before we left). They do sell drinks, chips, burgers and hotdogs.
