We went to Disneyland yesterday afternoon just to see the parade. Main Street was full of people, but we were able to squeeze in a couple of spaces in front of Coke Corner, and waited for the parade.

We noticed that they have already set up the risers in front of the Main St train station for the Candlelight Processional, and it looks so beautiful. Kelly snapped some pics, but it was really too dark to do the scene justice, so I won't post them.

The parade was cute as always. I love that song. Luckily, I forgot about some of it, so was pleasantly surprised at a lot of it.

The castle was something out of a fairy tale. It was so beautiful. We were able to see it light up twice, and actually, when it lit up at 6pm (I think that was the time) snow fell on us on Main Street while we waited for the parade. So, we really didn't mind the wait - people were happy, children dancing in the street... There were two ladies behind us, standing behind the rope. Knowing that the CMs would chase them away, Kelly & I made room & invited them to squeeze in with us. Everyone made room. One was from Wisconsin & the other from Australia, and had never seen the parade before, so I put Miss Australia in front of me so she could have a better view.

Like I said, we really enjoyed the parade, and afterwards, Kelly & I played the salmon game and made our way towards the castle. Kelly's goal was to get in front of the Partners statue, and to my surprise, we did. We parked ourselves there & waited with the huge crowd for the fireworks.

The castle went dark, and the Christmas fireworks show was great. Then we got to watch the last Castle lighting ceremony of the evening, while music played and snow fell.

It was really a great evening, and I was happy to share it with the not-so-rascal. :)

Mary Jo, that sounds like such a nice evening. I was there last Sunday, took the Holiday Tour in the afternoon, watched the parade and then stayed around for the Castle lighting. I was very impressed! They did a great job with the effects.

Mary Jo,
DH & I plan on doing the same thing soon. Unfortunately, this weekend is the CP (too crowded), next weekend is DH's Christmas party in LA and we are spending the night because it is over an hours drive and we plan on having a cocktail or two:cutie: . My Christmas party is on Friday Dec 14, so we are going to DL on either Sat Dec 15 or Sun Dec 16. I know it will likely be crowded, but we have no other choice. I am glad you and your DD had a magical time:) .

It really was nice. I forgot to add that we window shopped on the way out of the park, and spent a lot of time in that little shop next to the photo place (you'd think I know the name of it off the top of my head!). Of course, I ended up getting a Christmas Tink mug, some Christmas cards, a Tink ornament (naughty/nice), and Kelly got a Tigger ornament (she couldn't resist, lol). By the time we left Disneyland (the park closed at 8, with the shops on Main Street staying open), the crowds had died considerably, so we were able to get on a waiting tram.

It's worth it to go during the week, but even if you have to go on a weekend, it's so beautiful, it's worth it. :)
