You're welcome, I thought it was a nice thing for him to do. I checked my link and I'm not sure it's working so here's the story:
Have You Heard? Urban makes good on handshake deal
Before performing at Thursday's concert, Urban made good on a promise he made 5 years ago.
NORTH WILKESBORO, N.C. -- Country singer and recent Grammy winner Keith Urban was in Charlotte Thursday night for a sold out concert at the Bobcats Arena.
Urban opened with his hit song "Days Go By" from his album Be Here.
Friday morning on his way to a concert in Chapel Hill Urban stopped at a car dealership in Wilksboro to make good on a handshake agreement he made 5-years-ago with a salesman.
Urban purchased a 1994 Chevy Impala in 2001 using his first royalty check from his hit "But For the Grace of God."
"The dealer took $2,000 off the asking price, as long as I agreed to make an appearance at his dealership some time in the future," Urban said in a written statement. "It's taken long enough, but I've finally got back to town to settle up."
The car was in mint condition with only 3,000 miles when Urban bought it, said Specialty Car's Phil Stevens.
"I never thought that someone who had achieved what Keith has achieved since we first met would find the time to remember a simple handshake promise," Stevens said.
Urban appeared for an hour at the dealership to sign autographs and then moved on for his sold-out performance at the Dean E. Smith Center later Friday night.
Last week, Urban won the Grammy for best male country vocal performance for "You'll Think of Me."
Urban grew up loving country music in Australia. He moved to Nashville in 1992. He has been making headlines recently not only for his music, but for his relationship with fellow Aussie Nicole Kidman.
