Keeping Disney RO reservation or changing to DVC Rental

Good morning! We've recently seen some confirmed reservations with steep discounts (cheaper than AP room rates) that are the same dates as our trip. We are leaving within 10 days so I feel comfortable enough changing to a DVC rental and it looks like the cancellation policy through Disney has been relaxed to cancel one day before check in.

My question is this: If I link a confirmation number for the DVC rental, then cancel my Disney-booked resort, will my park reservations get cancelled with it? Or do those stay as long as any resort confirmation for the same dates exists in my MDE?

I actually just did something similar, but for April dates. I moved my package back a week and made a split stay with DVC rental. I had long ago secured our park reservations and even after MDE updated my package dates, the original park reservations (which are now well outside the use period for our tickets) were still showing up. I had to go in and cancel them one by one.

Now, this was all in the same 24 hour period, so I don't know if those invalid park reservations would eventually disappear on their own. Hope this info helps!
