Keeping a Trip a Surprise?

My wife and I share an e-mail account, and it is the one used for our My Disney Experience account. I am thinking about trying to surprise her with a 40th birthday trip, but don't know how I could keep it a secret.

Does anyone know if there is a way to opt out of receiving an e-mail confirmation if I book a stay at a resort / book restaurant reservations, etc., or is there no way from keeping it a secret from her? I can't just delete the e-mails, because they would still be there on her phone.

I am going to move this to the Resorts Board. Not sure if that is the best place but since it will all start with your booking the room, hopefully they can help you.

Bool using an agent. LIST NO email address. Tell the agent do NOT send any real mail either. Use a good family members telephone number. Do NOT list it on MDE until its time to make your reservations- When will she get to know about the trip?

Thank you. I think I will try setting up another MDE account with another e-mail address. I was hoping to keep it a secret until a week or two before we go.

Change the password on your email account - then tell the wife it's broken . Once you get confirmations.... switch the password back, and say "look honey - they FIXED it" .

I ended up creating a new MDE account with a personal e-mail and set the shipping address set to my work address. Now hopefully she won't notice that our balance went down a bit after I purchased the plane tickets....

I have done this twice. The first time was long ago and was easy. but with emails and all the stuff they mail you now you really have to be careful

I did it a few years ago, but like another poster said, I used an agent. I had her send everything to my work address. It worked flawless. The agent and I worked together great. We made it a RO ressie and I paid a night at a time with rat hole money till I got it paid. I didn't worry about tix till we got there and then the wife already knew, well because she was THERE. The agent and I had the ADR's made and by the time we left I had the Deluxe Dining as well. We also had the Segway in Epcot tour (the last month that it was going).

When we left, I pulled up at the airport to drop off our friend, he got out and went in...I hit the CD for Illuminations music in the van and the rest is history. My friend took the van home. We took a airplane to happy. I felt for him. Stay in Illinois in November. Good friend though.

Hardest thing was packing for her. It was November in Illinois and I had to get into summer clothes that she had already put away. Needless to say my wife didn't like the way I dressed her, but she didn't argue when I said lets go to DTD and do some shopping. We took the bus to happy!

Was just a four day long weekend trip, but it was a blast.

The other time was many moons ago, and I got her really good that time. I had her convinced it was a two week trip to Maine, when in actuality it was one week in Maine and one week in Happy. Three way flights are fun.
