I was just wondering, how does everyone keep track of their Key to the Kingdom card/room key? Does it come with a lanyard so you can wear it around your neck or do you just have to keep it in your wallet. Sorry, I just can't remember from the last time we went. Thanks in advance. :thanks:

I just keep it in my wallet. It does not have a hole in it where you could attach anything to it.

I keep it in my pocket and constantly check to make sure it is still there. If you lose it, you can easily have it replaced at your resort. I did this once when I left the card in a fast pass machine. It was a matter of a few minutes to get a new card back at my resort.

It's just like a cc.

WE usually go ina group, so we usually keep our park tickets together while we're ina park. WE found this ot be one of the downsides of a package with dining plan - we each had to keep our cards, or else we couldn't use dining credits if we sent someone off to get fastpasses.

If you have an ID lanyard, that will work.. They also sell lanyards that will work in the parks. Just be careful, some of the lanyards have a velcro 'safety' release. The lanyards double as pin lanyards. I know they had thema bunch of places, but the one place I recall seeing them was at the pin shop in MK next to CBJ.

Or you could purchase one of those lanyards for swimming that has a little case that holds a couple of cards or a bit of cash. The resort gift shops sell them--they're in the swimming accessories area, or occasionally near the other lanyards.

This is what we did last May. I bought one for each of the 5 of us: DH, DW, DD14, DD12 and DD8. (They also made nice souvenirs as well, since we were staying at the Poly.) Everyone carried their own card and fastpasses, plus I kept $20 cache in mine, and all the receipts for the day. Other than a camera in a small case, we carried nothing else. Keys, wallets, cell phones, everything was locked up in our safe.

As others have said, its the same size as a credit card. Just carry it with your other cards. No need to do anything special.

Try to keep it away from your cell phone, as it can demagnetize your card. We had this problem in July. Some CMs told us to keep the cards away from credit cards too.

I usually downsize my wallet for vacation-take out unnecessary cards like grocery store cards, Macy's, etc. This keeps the number of cards in the wallet down to avoid ruining the card. I do really like the plastic holders for being near the pool or the water parks.

Good advice. This happened to me too but was easily corrected by my resort CM.

That's what we were told..and to keep it away from the camera, too.

So, we had the cellphone and camera with wallet in one pocket and the room key/park tickets in the other. :thumbsup2

I did all those things and still misplaced mine at midnight in the shops after the P&PP.

In true Disney fashion, someone found it and turned it in at lost and found while I was there looking for it. So I owe someone a big thanks.:flower3:

That sounds odd. I suspect most people keep their credit cards near other credit cards without problem. Why would there be a problem with a room key which uses the exact same technology?

You really shouldn't keep your credit cards all bunched together. It can and will demagnetize the strip.

I carry a string backpack with my card, a bottle of water, small digital camera, cell phone and a pouch that holds money/cc/id. Its lightweight and easy to get in and out of. . .
