Katie & Mike TR - SBP/Bluezoo/Morocco - Dessert Party (8/5)

Phone Appointment with Rosie

Well, I had my phone appointment with Rosie. Let me just say INFORMATION OVERLOAD :rotfl:

I have so many decisions to make apparently! I am waiting for her to send me pictures of the things we talked about.

I decided to have a hand tied French bouquet. I will probably have a variety of bright pink roses with accents of purple/bluish hydrangeas or delphiniums. She wanted to know what color I wanted the bouquet tied with...I was like "I could not care less." LOL. I didn't even know that would be something people obsess about.

She is also going to send me some information about SBP decor. I told her I don't really know what my options are, since I am just going off what I see online. I told her though that I definitely want the chairs covered. She told me this is the website to look at for color choices http://linenshowroom.com/index.cfm?action=catalog Thought it would be helpful to post that, because I don't believe I've ever seen the link on these boards, and it's pretty helpful and thorough :thumbsup2

Thanks for sharing the link! Did I say thank you for the link :cool1: I'm enjoying your report.

Wow, your invites are just beautiful - love the way you made them.

Just a word about the Unity Candle vs the Sand Ceremony. We had an outdoor ceremony (Epcot - Italy) and we wanted the Unity Candle. I love the Sand Ceremony but to me it almost looks like sandart that you make at a country fair. Being an outside ceremony - our candles would not say lit - we could not light our individual candles and light the center candle.

Trying to light our candles.

Looking back - I am still glad we did this but I think we should have done the Sand Ceremony. I love the first Sand Ceremony kit on this website - it is shapped like a heart and I wish we would have done this one (because we were outside ). http://kensingtonclassics.com/search/?keyword=sand+ceremony

I too love that kit. I am just unsure about the whole idea of a sand ceremony for the reasons you mentioned. Although, it would be a good way to capture the colors of the wedding more than the candles would. I think your picture looks fine, and that's why I sway toward the candles. We can just pretend they are being lit, no one will be able to see the flame lit or unlit in the pictures.

Thanks! :goodvibes I just hope the bridesmaids dresses end up looking kind of like that color. All I had to go off of was a swatch and who knows when they'll actually come in :scared:

Very true - I was thinking of trying to get the flame photoshopped in :lmao: .

Some odds and ends since I have time...

Firstly, I feel bad because I know another bride used this exact thing, but I bought this as a possible cake topper:

I swear I looked high and low for another Donald and Daisy figure. This is seriously it.

Even though I have all this Mickey stuff in the wedding, I am a big Daisy fan and think I am going to have Donald and Daisy there rather than the MK Photoshoot. My sister says it looks like a birthday cake topper. I am going to ask the ceramics teacher if it is possible to paint over this. Then what I would do is make Daisy's bow darker to match the hot dark pink color of the invites and flowers and then make Donalds jacket grey, the bow and hat black. I dunno.

I got these necklaces for my sisters. They are the same necklace as mine, except sapphire colored rather than the clear crystal. My mom said I shouldn't have the same jewelry as the bridesmaids, but whatever, I want them to look good too.

And finally just another picture of the glorious shoes ;) My photographer added me as a friend on facebook and saw the picture of the shoes there and said she is really excited about them! I can't wait :yay:

Found your PJ tonight and love everything! Especially your invites- they are amazing! Can't wait to see more! popcorn:: subscribingpopcorn::

WOW!!! your invites are AWESOME! I love how you did them! I think they look wonderful! I agree, I have so much more luck finding Disney paper/scrapbooking stuff at Archivers too! I think it might just be a Chicago-land store, I'm not sure though. :thumbsup2 Did you do all the Caligraphy yourself? They really look great! :goodvibes

Thanks! I just looked and there are Archiver's Stores in a bunch of states. Mostly midwestern though. I would definitely recommend them to people. They are a lot cleaner and better organized than Michael's too.

I have my printer to thank for the caligraphy ;) The font is Bickham Script Pro Semibold :thumbsup2

Hi,

The invites are gorgeous, and I'm a big fan of embossing! I found scrapbooking and crafting earlier this year and was fascinated by it. I love the Mickey punch too, very unusual.

Well I have decided on the dessert party menu. Thanks to these boards I asked about customizing a menu :thumbsup2

For $22/person we are going to get
-Bowl of Tiramisu
-Mini Cheesecake
-Chocolate Fudge Brownie
-Fruit Custard Tarts
-Petit Key West Lime Tarts
-Fruit Punch, Coffees and Teas

:woohoo: If I couldn't customize, I probably would've gone with the petit classics, but that was $28/person and there was a lot of stuff I didn't want in the menu, so I am really happy they were able to do this for me!

We are also going to have a hosted bar at the DP.

I also booked Beaute Speciale for hair and makeup for me and my bridesmaids. I was really happy with their prompt responses.

WOW! Your invites are gorgeous! I can't even IMAGINE how much time went into planning them, designing them, and then making them. Absolutely beautiful! Receiving one of those really would be like finding a golden ticket. :cloud9:

I completely agree with Cam - I would love to have mine look anywhere as nice as yours!! :lovestruc Very awesome!

Your invites are GORGEOUS!! I wish I was that talented! I am going to have to have someone else print mine!! I can photoshop anything, but invitations are a whole different ball game. Speaking of photoshop...if anyone wants to email me their unity candle pics, flames are very easy to put in.

Also, where did you get the mickey necklaces? I am going to have to steal your idea!
:rolleyes1

The invitations were not that hard. I used Adobe Illustrator, so if you understand Photoshop, it shouldn't be too hard to figure out how to play around in Illustrator.

I got the Mickey necklaces on ebay. http://stores.ebay.com/myfavejewelry this is the seller I got them all from. She ships from Hong Kong, so it takes a while, but I've bought three separate times from her and there has never been a problem. If you don't see what you want, just email her, she probably has it, but just hasn't listed it. I cannot attest to the authenticity of the items (metal or crystal quality), but they look good to me.

Yea embossing is really cool. It did take a little trial and error before I got it right though. Lesson--Versamark ink is the only way to go :thumbsup2 I tried this other ink with the embossing powders; disaster!

Just decided to check out your PJ after seeing your post on my TR. I ADORE your engagement ring! It's gorgeous!!! :goodvibes

Subbing!! :)

Thanks! :goodvibes

I don't have Illustrator, but I will definitely look into it. I can do all kinds of cool things with pictures, but give me card stock and a printer, and it looks like a 5 yr old tried to do it. I'll have to start practicing!;)
Thanks for the info on the necklace!! I found the seller, and I am going to order one when payday comes around again!! (I just ordered a ton of Mickey stuff of off ebay!)
Everything looks great. Keep the posts coming.

:surfweb: I just found your PJ!!! (and read through it) I love all of your ideas! Congratulations!!!! The ring is beautiful!!!! The invitaions are amazing, the mickey swirl head and the colors...they're perfect. Tha cake topper is too cute. Don't feel bad, that's why we all post here to share ideas.

Can't wait to read the rest of your plans.
