Oh, I have to share this story over here. Saturday night, someone I know from another message board went to Jellyrolls. She requested "Beyond the Sea," and wrote, "Karen from Boston says hi." So, Scotty mentioned me from the stage after reading the request, and it turns out a DISer I know was there, so she started clapping. She said poor Scotty looked confused (probably because he knew the request didn't come from the DISer). There was a table of folks from Boston there that night, and he asked them if they knew me, which they didn't. Scotty said, "That Karen from Boston sure gets around." And then he said, "If you know Karen from Boston, make some noise." He said it was like Six Degrees of Seperation (guess he realized that two people who knew me who didn't know each other were there).
I just think it's hysterical that two people who know me were there that night. Scotty usually will somehow acknowledge the people I send to the bar, but to my knowledge, this was the first time he talked about me from the stage when I wasn't there (well, except for the night he said hello to me from the stage when Kaycee called me from the bar the night I got home from my last trip--of course you don't know about that because the last day of my trip report isn't up yet).
Anyways, I was in hysterics laughing when the DISer said, "Your name came up at Jellyrolls on Saturday night." I had already known that Scotty mentioned me, but to find out someone else was there is just a freaking riot.
