Day three--Friday, December 13, 2002
The rain continued to fall on Friday morning. It was coming down in sheets. The walkways at the Port Orleans were completely flooded. There was also a tornado warning. The rain was so bad that we didn't even leave our room until close to noon (good thing we made that grocery stop on our way to the hotel).
When the rain began to slow down, Carolyn decided that she didn't want to go to the parks on a rainy day, so she headed for Disney Quest with Joe. I headed over to Epcot for the afternoon. I went to the Nine Dragons for lunch, and had the Taste of China, which gave me the opportunity to sample several dishes. I really loved the pork lo mein. It was the best lo mein I've ever had.
After lunch, I continued to tour Epcot, taking a couple of whirls on Test Track, followed by Spaceship Earth.
I met Carolyn and Joe for dinner at Planet Hollywood that evening. Carolyn got a pasta dish that she really enjoyed. I ordered a burger, and it was probably the worst burger I've ever had. I usually like the food at Planet Hollywood, but this burger was barely edible.
After dinner, I took Joe to Disney Quest for a couple of hours to give Carolyn a break. Joe really loved Alien Encounter. We had to play it twice. We also played Mighty Ducks Pinball again, and Joe won. He just barely weighed enough to move the platform, and he still won the game.
Carolyn came back to meet us, and I left them to meet my friend Leah from back home who was also at Disney World. We did some shopping at Downtown Disney, and I got a yummy slush, and Leah got a gelato at a stand on the West Side. There were a couple of men on stilts dressed as toy soldiers on the West Side, and it was fun watching people walk under their legs.
