Day 6—Tuesday, May 4, 2004

I woke up early to start my traditional last day thrill ride marathon. I had a quick breakfast of cereal in the room, finished packing, arranged for a bellmen to pick up my things, and I was on my way to MGM for early entry. I arrived at MGM right at 8:00, and went directly to the Tower of Terror. I road on the Tower of Terror and the Rock ‘N Roller Coaster twice each.

I then left MGM to head over to the Magic Kingdom. I had to wait a while for a bus, so I was running behind on my tour. The lines for the monorail and ferry to the Magic Kingdom were longer than I’ve ever seen them before. The resort monorail loop had very few people in line, so I jumped in that one, and was at the Magic Kingdom within a few minutes.

Once through the gates of the Magic Kingdom, I walked directly to Thunder Mountain and grabbed a Fast Pass. I then road Splash Mountain, followed by Thunder Mountain. I was hoping to fit in another viewing of Mickey’s Philharmagic, but between running late, and some lines, I had to skip it. I grabbed a Dole Whip, and made my way out of the park.

I took the monorail to the Ticket and Transportation Center, and transferred to the monorail to Epcot. After the lines at the Magic Kingdom, I decided to modify my thrill ride marathon a bit. I headed directly to the American Adventure so that I could catch American Vybe again—I had only seen them once during my stay, and wanted to see them one more time.

After watching another great set by American Vybe, I went to Nine Dragons for lunch. I got pot stickers, and General Tso’s chicken. Everything was delicious and fresh. I never miss lunch at Nine Dragons when I go to Disney World.

I then had about an hour to kill before I had to head back to the Port Orleans French Quarter to catch my towncar to the airport. I decided that I would rather see American Vybe again than ride on Mission: Space or Test Track again. Give me some music to tap my foot to, and I’m a happy girl :)

After the American Vybe set, I slowly made my way out of Epcot, stopping to visit my Leave A Legacy tile along the way. I stopped and looked at the character topiaries in front of Spaceship Earth one more time before heading to the bus to the Port Orleans.

When I arrived at the Port Orleans, I had some time to kill, so I got a vanilla milk shake (very yummy), and walked around the resort for a while. I also stopped to speak with a manager about the renovations, and he told me that he was pushing to get the sit-down restaurant reopened, which I told him I thought a Cajun restaurant would be a great addition to the resort.

My FL Tours towncar arrived 15 minutes early, so I got my luggage, and went to the airport. I always hate taking that ride back to MCO at the end of a trip, but at least I knew I would be back again in October and December.

Karen, loved your report and am so sorry we just missed each other at POFQ. I met Katypop (and Amymouse) our first night there......meeting DISers is my new favorite passtime!

When are you going in Oct? I'll be there 10/9-16 and WILL GET IN A VISIT TO JELLYROLLS THIS TIME!

Geez. It seems like I'm always a week behind you. I'll be there Oct. 22-Oct. 27.

Katypop mentioned she met you. Sounds like you had a fun time.

Karen

Well, you'll 'beat me there' the trip AFTER that! You'll be there in Dec and I won't be there till January! :teeth:

I loved meeting Katypop and Amymouse. We jabbered away for about three hours. This was the fourth time I've meet up with DISers and it's always been fun. A pretty painless way for people who may be a little shy to meet strangers, as having a love of Disney is a great ice-breaker!

Hope to see you in chat next Sat.

Yes, meeting DISers is always a great thing. Everyone I've met has been super nice! And Katypop didn't run away screaming after the Boma incident, so that's a good sign :)

Maybe someday our trips will overlap.

Karen

Karen, I just read all of your trip reports and wanted to say that I enjoyed them all! :) When I am at Jellyrolls next month, I will be sure to give Scotty a big hug for you! ;)

Thanks for the reports, I loved them! :)

Have a great time when you go to Jellyrolls! If you see Scotty, I highly recommend requesting "Runaround Sue." It's my new favorite song that he does. :) Yes, give him a big hello from Karen from Boston. He loves when I send people to see him.

Karen

I enjoyed reading all your trip reports Karen - sure sounds like you know how to have a good time!
It's always sad to have it be the last day of a trip to WDW but the good part is that you'll probably be busy planning your next 2 trips for later in the year.
See ya in December!

So sad your trip is over...:( But just think...2 more trips this year yet to come!!!!!:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: Thanks for sharing your vacation! Sounds like you had a great time overall!!!

:hyper:

Thanks for sharing your trip with us, Karen :D . Sounds like you had a great time minus that night with creepy guy. I'm glad your friend took care of you that night and made sure you were okay ::yes:: .

Hi Karen,

In reading your post I just realized that I think you are the person who sat in front of my boyfriend and I on Splash Mountain on your last day at MK. You pointed out the hidden mickey at the top of the drop. It took me two more rides before I saw it!! Sounds like you had a great trip.

No way! That is too funny! Yes, that was me. Wow. I almost feel like a celebrity :) Funny that I was right with a DISer and didn't know it. Guess you didn't see my lime green or my DIS pin :)

Nice meeting you.

Karen

Yeah it is funny. I didn't see your button or ribbon. Too bad, but in was nice to meet you.

It's too bad I was a week behind you this trip as I would have loved to have gone to Jellyrolls with you. But I plan to make it there at least once in October (and MNSSHP!!) with you and as many other DISers as we can round up!!

Counting down the days!!!! (I think we're at 162???) :goodvibes

Talk to you soon!! :teeth:

Looking forward to seeing you again in Oct., Barb! According to my cell phone countdown clock, my plane leaves in 160 days, 16 hours, and 13 minutes! Yay! Jellyrolls here I come :)

Karen

Sounds like a great trip despite the rain.
Ive only been to Jellyrolls once but I cant wait to get back there. Its so much fun.
This is a bit OT, but have you ever been to Jake Ivories in Boston?

Hi Katie! I think I like Jellyrolls just a little tiny bit. I mean, it's not like I'd go there every night of my trip (I mean, I did take a night off from Jellyrolls). And it's not like I'd talk about Jellyrolls in my signature, and have a picture of some piano guys there, too, and use it as my avatar. Oh wait, who am I kidding ;)

I have never been to Jake Ivories. I hear it's a fun place, but I don't think it will be my bar :) I do want to go there sometime, though.

I went to a piano bar in NY called Don't Tell Mamas, and it was pretty boring there. Lacked the energy of Jellyrolls.

I'll be back in Jellyrolls in about 161 days according to my cell phone countdown. The piano guys have already been warned :)

Karen

LOL, Karen!

While Jake Ivories definitely isnt as nice as Jellyrolls(think Lansdowne St compared to WDW), it definitely reminds me of it. If you get a good crowd it can be a lot of fun, especially after a Red Sox game. Then again if you get an abnoxious crowd, thats a different story. ;)
Maybe sometime after this current Boston Dis meet we should do a Jake Ivories meet. ;)

Sounds like a plan to me ;) Don't be surprised if I cry because Scotty and Ray aren't there, though. Just kidding.
