Day 6Tuesday, May 4, 2004
I woke up early to start my traditional last day thrill ride marathon. I had a quick breakfast of cereal in the room, finished packing, arranged for a bellmen to pick up my things, and I was on my way to MGM for early entry. I arrived at MGM right at 8:00, and went directly to the Tower of Terror. I road on the Tower of Terror and the Rock N Roller Coaster twice each.
I then left MGM to head over to the Magic Kingdom. I had to wait a while for a bus, so I was running behind on my tour. The lines for the monorail and ferry to the Magic Kingdom were longer than Ive ever seen them before. The resort monorail loop had very few people in line, so I jumped in that one, and was at the Magic Kingdom within a few minutes.
Once through the gates of the Magic Kingdom, I walked directly to Thunder Mountain and grabbed a Fast Pass. I then road Splash Mountain, followed by Thunder Mountain. I was hoping to fit in another viewing of Mickeys Philharmagic, but between running late, and some lines, I had to skip it. I grabbed a Dole Whip, and made my way out of the park.
I took the monorail to the Ticket and Transportation Center, and transferred to the monorail to Epcot. After the lines at the Magic Kingdom, I decided to modify my thrill ride marathon a bit. I headed directly to the American Adventure so that I could catch American Vybe againI had only seen them once during my stay, and wanted to see them one more time.
After watching another great set by American Vybe, I went to Nine Dragons for lunch. I got pot stickers, and General Tsos chicken. Everything was delicious and fresh. I never miss lunch at Nine Dragons when I go to Disney World.
I then had about an hour to kill before I had to head back to the Port Orleans French Quarter to catch my towncar to the airport. I decided that I would rather see American Vybe again than ride on Mission: Space or Test Track again. Give me some music to tap my foot to, and Im a happy girl
After the American Vybe set, I slowly made my way out of Epcot, stopping to visit my Leave A Legacy tile along the way. I stopped and looked at the character topiaries in front of Spaceship Earth one more time before heading to the bus to the Port Orleans.
When I arrived at the Port Orleans, I had some time to kill, so I got a vanilla milk shake (very yummy), and walked around the resort for a while. I also stopped to speak with a manager about the renovations, and he told me that he was pushing to get the sit-down restaurant reopened, which I told him I thought a Cajun restaurant would be a great addition to the resort.
My FL Tours towncar arrived 15 minutes early, so I got my luggage, and went to the airport. I always hate taking that ride back to MCO at the end of a trip, but at least I knew I would be back again in October and December.
