I just got home after seeing Kansas at Epcot. Wow! They were great! For men in their fifties, those guys can rock!!

And a huge line for the first night!

We didn't stick around. We went to the last two demos at the Odyssey instead. A pretty interesting (long) presentation from a coffee roaster in Tampa and then some great butternut squash soup and butternut squash risotto from chefs from St. Louis.

We got in line about 4:45 for the 5:45 performance. We met a nice couple and chatted with them so the time went by very quickly. I had a great time watching DD rockin to Kansas. She knows all of their songs by heart.

having a retro moment here.......god i remember when they were sooooooooooooo popular, you could not turn on the radio without hearing "wayward son" or "dust in the wind".

Glad you enjoyed them.

I once had a little e-mail communication with one of the band guys. I used to frequent a "Family Affair" message board, and there was some speculation that "Carry On Wayward Son" was written about Anissa Jones's (Buffy on Family Affair) brother.

After much debate, it was settled once and for all by the guy who wrote the song. Definitely NOT written about Paul Jones - but he did concede that the lyrics certainly could have been construed as such. ;)

Now there's some useless trivia you can use for an icebreaker. ;)

OMG I MUST go to bed soon! I read this and was *seriously* wondering WHY did EPCOT add a KANSAS pavillion. I am pathetic! :rolleyes1

One of the best parts of a day at Epcot.
