I've been looking at the airport website- there is economy parking for $5.50/day and a shuttle to take you to the appropriate part of the airport. Or there is valet parking for up to $7/day with luggage assistance. What's better? What all does valet do for you? It doesn't seem to be much more expensive.

Can't speak to the valet question, but their economy parking lot is excellant. It's a ways from the airport, but the tram service was great and always on time. The price was right as well. But $7/day is very hard to beat for a large airport.

We drove to KC from Omaha to fly Airtran to WDW a couple weeks ago. The KC airport was a little odd but not bad. We used the economy parking and it was super easy to get to off I-29. Easily found parking next to a bus stop and the bus came right away. Took us right to the door we needed. Walked in and there was the check-in desk. Upon our return walked out the door from the bag claim and a bus came momentarily and dropped us right at the car. I have to say I was impressed with the parking situation there. I can't comment on the valet, sorry. One thing you can do is go to the KC airport website and print off a coupon for a free day of parking! It might be for economy though but still a free day!

Thanks! Just snagged the coupon! Definitely going to go economy now.

Good plan! :thumbsup2

I looked at the Parking Spot, but my DH used to travel weekly from MCI and swears by economy parking!

We have never had an issue either.

I do see that you may be coming from Iowa and depending on when your flight is they do have lots of Park and Fly hotels if that interests you. We liked how close we were to the airport for a 7 AM flight and we live in the metro! I believe it is the price of the hotel room to park your car there all week.

Not doing it this year because our flight is later and we can leave home at 7AM and get there fine, but I would if the flight was earlier!

We did Park n Fly last year, as SW leaves KC at 7:45 am. AirTran's nonstop takes off at 10:04, so we will just leave at 5:00 am. I will probably sleep better in my own bed, even getting up before 5.

Tomorrow's the day!

No wonder the valet parking is only $7.00 per day, its further from the airport than the economy lot and you still have to take a shuttle to the terminal!

Use the economy parking--the lots are set up by the airline that you are using and the shuttle bus takes you to the correct terminal. You will pick up the shuttle returning right across from bag claims area. Quick and very easy to exit the airport parking.

I will say that I use The Parking Spot most of the time. I travel solo some of the time and I like it for safety and assistance reasons. The bus picks you up and drops you off right at your car. The driver gets off the bus and will assist in loading and unloading your bags. I like that I am in my locked car very quickly and not waiting at a bus stop or walking in a deserted parking lot by myself.
