K & N air filter. YES, I finally get it (post #13) + PIC of my LIL NOVA

I meant to say 200k miles. I may go back to paper as the k&n is a pain to wash.

I never had any problem washing them or oiling them and I did actually like them on my gassers, I just couldnt get past some of the information I learned about. In the end its a judgement call and you have to decide for yourself if its worth the risk. Just the fact that it makes no difference on a diesel is enough to exclude it from me using one. I have many opinions that are based on my experiences, I manage the maintenance and repair on a fleet of 21 vehicles ranging from a pickup truck to a $800,000 aerial, I am by no means an "expert" on anything but I have been around a while and seen a few things. Please dont take anything I say as gospel, its just opinion and you get what you pay for...... :lmao: read up and learn what you can from people who have real life experience.

Always remember that "friends dont let friends buy Fram" thats a whole other discussion right there....

I have been told wix makes good filters. On a ford with a 6.0 diesel from everything I have read the stock filter is good up to 500 hp and can hold as much as 3 lb's of dirt. But it also cost $80.00

We use either Baldwin (which I prefer) or Napa gold which are Wix, on all our trucks. We have 6 new E450 ambulances with the 6.0 in them. W ehave had a problem with the Napa oil filter not sealing well. It looks like they changed the o-ring design so we are hoping that fixes it. The Baldwin oil filter for that truck costs 40% more but it reuses the OEM housing and just gives you a replacement o-ring.
I have seen a guy in Texas that sells Napa gold filters at a really good price, cant think of the name off the top of my head though.... sorry.
