is it possible to go to any of these special dinner events if you are staying offsite? I had no idea about them before we booked...and I know our kids would love to go to one at least. If I can get a reservation for any...how would I go about that?

If you tell us what specific 'dinner events' you need more info about, maybe we can help? But your question was a bit vague.

Anyone can call the Disney dining reservations line to make Advance Dining Reservations for the onsite restaurants. These include the dinner shows & character dining onsite at WDW, as well as the Fantasmic Package (for example). Just call 407-WDW-DINE.

The ONLY thing offsite guest don't have access to are the Extra Magic Hours, that's a resort guest perk. Any hard ticket park event (Party parades) or meals are available to anyone.

was there something specific you were wondering about?? I'm assuming this is a first trip and there are a lot of us here that are happy to help as we've been lots of times and some of us even used to work there.
