Just wondering what song you had for your 1st dance

We are going to have our first dance to Bless The Broken Road by Rascal Flatts. When we first started dating he sent me a text message ( I still have it!) with the main lyric and its been our song ever since!! We are dancing our last dance to Billy Currington, Must have done something right.

There are so many songs I love, it's hard to pick just a few!

That is so sweet! I love that idea

Thanks. The Adam Sandler reading really added a little laughter and giggling to our ceremony. The really funny part is that it fit my DH's personality so well that afterwards no one even questioned why he chose it. :rotfl:

For our ceremony, my DH and I each dedicated a reading to each other. The lyrics of "Push" were my reading to him, and the lyrics of "Grow Old with You" by Adam Sandler were his reading to me.

I love the song "Grow Old with You" by Adam Sandler too. That is really cool you used it for your reading. What a great idea. We had it for our last dance song.

we're going to dance to "At Last" by Etta James. It's such a classic song, and really pretty to dance to.

Everyone here is probably much too young to know these songs, but my DH and I danced to Chicago's "Color My World" for our wedding (1976) and Phil Collins' version of "A Groovy Kind of Love" for our vow renewal. Cool thing was although I brought a CD to have it played at our VR, the violinist knew it and played along with the CD making it even more special!

We haven't decided 100%, but we are leaning toward "More". (Its sung by a few different people including Steve Lawrence, Frank Sinatra and Harry Connick Jr.)

My DW and mine first song was "You Raise Me Up" by Josh Groban. I heard it on the radio one day and I went straight to the store and bought the CD. Now whenever my wife hears that song she thinks of me and I think of her. It's little things like that that connect loved ones!!

I'm leaning towards " If I Should Fall Behind" by Bruce Springsteen...he's been my favorite for the last 26 years and the lyrics are so beautiful...we're still a few months out though ...

Michelle :cloud9:

We are going to dance to "Ever the Same" by Rob Thomas. One day, early on in dating, I mentioned to DF that I loved that song. He went out and got the entire CD for me that night. From that time on, it has been our song.

We used 'You're My Home' by Billy Joel

We used 'Promise' by Kellie Coffey. A subtle Disney song....
The words to it are perfect for a wedding.

We used that one too. Everyone had just watched Illuminations before we danced and "we go on" was fresh in their head and it made a perfect continuation.

We used "Promise" by Kellie Coffey too. We met on the college program back in 1999 when Illuminations was a brand new show and as we were leaving Epcot one night, we saw an elderly couple dancing to this song. I remember thinking in my head that would be us someday. So when we got engaged I bought the Illuminations cd. I listened to the lyrics to the song for the first time and cried my eyes out. It was perfect!

We are 90 % sure we are using "Valentine" by Martina McBride. We also were thinking of "Beautiful" from the Jim Brickman Disney Songbook CD. But, that song is a little one sided....we'll see. I will have to let a handful of people listen to both and get opinions. Oh, and a third choice was "All I Ask of YOu" from Phantom of the Opera, but as a previous poster stated the song (although amazingly beautiful and romantic) seems like it's 20 mins long.

We're using Promise by Kellie Coffey too, the lyrics are just so perfect for the moment and me and DF sort of came together through Disney.

Ours was "I'll Be" by Edwin McCain. Aerosmith's "Don't Want to Miss a Thing" has become our song as well since the day after the wedding. We went to Planet Hollywood in Downtown Disney and started joking with our waiter (also from Canada). If you've been there, you'll know that they put up birthday/anniversary announcements on the big screen while playing music videos. Well, our waiter spoke with my brother in law and next thing we know the DJ is saying "We have some newlyweds in the house. Matt and Jessica Bingham were married yesterday, can we get a congrats to Mr & Mrs Jessica Bingham!" He then put on Aerosmith's video and repeatedly posted "Mr. Jessica Bingham", "Mr. Jessica Bingham knows who wears the pants", "I want to be Mr. Jessica Bingham" on the jumbo tron. He and the waiter later came over and thanked Matt for having a sense of humour and not kicking their butts! We were all laughing so hard and had a lot of people congratulating us.

We decided to use "Just in Time" by Tony Bennett and Michael Buble'. Kind of swingy version that suits our reception location at the Dance Hall. Now all I have to do is get my DF to dance well.
