Seriously, what are the odds that you were able to get the photo of Ana's pic on the castle?! That really is a perfectly magical moment.

I absolutely love Wishes too! It's my favorite, too, but I have to say that the new castle show is a close second. It's amazing. Those two shows together - perfect way to end a night in Disney.

Unfortunately, we were behind 5 rows of people, so we threw the kids on on shoulders and watched as each colorful float came up Main St. and passed us.

Did you throw them your own shoulders, or somebody else's?

The lights dimmed and the music started. We were in awe at the designs and pictures on the castle. About 2 minutes in, I needed to take a few pictures of the castle... all of the sudden, all of our friends started screaming. Juliana's picture was on the castle!!!!! We couldn't believe it!!!

That's awesome! And I love how Juliana wanted her friend up there as well.

Even cooler! Nice job with the camera work!

I had chills. I showed everyone the picture and they couldn't believe I was able to get it. What are the chances? I mean the picture was up there for 5-8 seconds. There was no way to see the castle, realize it was Juliana, turn the camera on, and try to take the picture. Having the picture on the castle was MAGIC. Just when you thought you've seen all the magic and finding that picture on my camera was pure DISNEY MAGIC at it's best. We have had many great Disney memories, but this is one we will never forget for the rest of our lives.

Simply amazing.

Your fireworks pictures really look great, too! Who needs a tripod? I thought some of those shots were terrific.

Don't you love how they are imposing all the new, cool, lights onto the Castle?!? They have a gingerbread house theme for this time of the year and I'm sure others.
I sure hope they keep the memories theme going, I don't want to miss out on seeing it. More importantly....I'm hoping my mom will get to come with me.

Oh my WORD! Even though I already knew Ana's picture was the big secret, (Kathy told me becaue I knew I could not wait months and months to find out, looks like I was right!) I'm still blown away. Do you think she has any idea just how utterly famous she is?? How very caring and sensitive of her too to be upset that Victoria's picture wasn't up with hers, what an angel baby you have! Her picture on the castle really brought a tear to my eye Tim, thank you so much for sharing that special moment with us. It's just beautiful, I love her sunshine-y face smiling from the front of the castle! And how providential that you captured it! Good job Tim!! Sheesh, this isn't the first time you made me cry in one of your TR's! So glad you enjoyed Wishes too, it's my all time fav as well. It still gives me a tiny little chill when that sweet little girl's voice starts singing "starlight, starbright, first star I see tonight.."

Sigh, I totally hear ya on the GF cakes! We ordered a massive cake for my oldest DD's 9th b-day (she's turning 12 today, ack!) and it was exactly as you described...beautiful but tasteless. I think Costco makes a better tasting cake than the ones there. I think I have a pic on the cake thread...

See, doesn't it look like it should taste good but once we cut into it, it was so very dry, crumbly and tasteless. And it was $100 plus tax! Lesson learned.

Back to your GF update...I would've been peeved too if my waitress refused me a birthday candle. They let us light one on my DD's there at 1900 PF, so weird that she told you no. Lame. Glad you bucked the system and found a willing waitress! And Ana looks absolutely thrilled with her cake! What a beautiful birthday princess.

What was a dad to do? No, not roll up a napkin and make a torch to stick on the cake, but to ask another waitress who was more than happy to find us a candle! Now, don't get me wrong, our waitress was nice about the candle issue and was great throughout dinner, but I think she got annoyed that we got a candle from someone for the cake.

First at the idea of you rolling up a napkin. I like that idea. you could have stuck it in the beer bottle!!!

Funny how some servers can be a little bit unflexible!

The cake does look pretty, and I was wondering a) if the white was fondant or white chocolate and b) how much they soaked you for that puppy

Fondant is yucky (except mine because I make it with marshmallow but still the texture is eewww) but it did look nice. Lesson learned - stick a candle in the ice cream. I remember that big sundae dish and it was yummy.

glad you all had fun, looks like the Steps were fun --they are the best characters! so unpredictable in their silly snarkiness!

I get a chill hearing that voice too. Especially when Juliana is singing it too. These are the moments you have to cherish. They will grow out of them soon enough.
