Just what I wanted for Christmas-LINKS ON PAGE 1--- updated 11/19/10

This will be our first trip to Disney during the Christmas season so I am very excited about this trip.


So without further ado here are the Christmas travelers.

There will be Scrooge, or as most people know him Dale.

He is my husband of 23 years; loves Disney, but tries to be cool about it . He doesn't enjoy the planning part of the trip because he couldn't complain if he were the one planning and something went wrong.........

Then there is Jingle aka Dallas.

He is my baby elf, even though he is taller than I . He loves Disney as much and I do, and he likes the old school Disney rides: ie Universe of Energy. Like me, he isn't a thrill ride fan so we are slowly, but surely, adding the 'big' rides to our list of must dos.

Then there is me Mrs. Scrooge(the name is only because I'm married to Scrooge).........most know me as Dana.

See told you he was taller than me...... Anyway, I am a Disney FANATIC. I have loved going to Disney since my first trip in 1986.

I also have two other Disney loving children, but they are not coming on this trip. They are grown now and have jobs and other interests, but just for the sake of following along I will introduce them.

There is Amanda, she is engaged and getting married next November. You know I have raised her right because she has a Disney honeymoon planned.

This is her trying on wedding dresses a few weeks back.

Then there is Tyler. He is like his dad in that he loves Disney, but doesn't think it is cool to say.

Amanda, and my soon to be new son in law Matt, at GF last May.

I can remember watching The Wonderful World of Disney on Sunday nights, and when they announced they were opening Disney World, I thought about how great it was to have Disney so close to me. I was only 8 when it opened, so I had no concept of how far 500 miles was.......... My sister and BIL took my niece in 1982, and I was so jealous that I couldn't go . Flash forward to 1999 and we started our annual trips. At that time all five of us went every year.

May of 2009 was the last trip we were all on together.

Now that the introductions are completed the plans are as follows.

We will be staying at Pop from December 6-11. We have APs so we are doing room only. I have made a few ADRs and we plan on going to MVMCP on December 9th(still have to get tickets though ). We may be getting to Orlando on the 4th or 5th, just not positive about the arrival date yet.

So this is the cast and the plans so far.

YAY Christie is here . Yes it is the 9th. I have got to get my tickets ordered too so we don't get locked out. I'm so glad we can meet up too. I have enjoyed the other two times we met up so I know this will be even better.

Queen is in the house . Living through my Dis friends is what gets me by between trips.

Thanks on the pix . Dallas loves that he is taller than me . I can't imagine how tall he is going to be when he hits his growth spurt .

Connie's here . I have wanted to go at Christmas time for years, but have just been too impatient to wait that long........

I have a few things planned so I'm going to post those and add at time goes. I hope I'm better at keeping up with my TR after this trip than I was with the TR from our May trip .

So the planning has started . I don't know if we are leaving to drive down on December 4th, 5th or 6th. We are scheduled to check in at Pop on the 6th. I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to take the 4th and 5th off or not because that is my weekend to work. I was able to find someone to work for me so now we have to decide when we will drive down. If we get to leave on the 4th or 5th we will probably stay off site for those 1 or 2 nights.

I really wanted to do the Candlelight Processional, but there isn't a restaurant that Dale and Dallas would like for lunch on Tier 1 and I just can't see paying the high cost for a Tier 2 or 3 . We will take our chances and try to get a seat without the package. I plan on going to MVMCP on December 9th and I would much rather do that than the CP.

I was checking my ADRs and some of them are not showing up so I'm on hold with dining now to see what is up with that.

I had Via Napoli booked for Friday December 10th at 11:30 and it isn't showing nor is my Kona for 1:45 on Thursday December 9th. My 'Ohana breakfast at 8:25 on the 7th is there and I have a Crystal Palace at 10:10 on the 10th(wasn't sure if Dale wanted Via Napoli so made the CP just in case). I'm glad I have the confirmation numbers. All is resolved now, I was nervous.

Back to my plans.......lol. I had enough My Coke Rewards points to get Universal 2 tickets so we will take one day and go over there. I'm trying to get a 3rd ticket, but they are sold out right now and I'm hoping they come back before we go. I'm not sure which park we will decide on as it is a one park ticket.

So that is where we are now. Just a few plans made with more to come later.

I can't wait to see this------

YAY Kathy is here . That jersey was once mine......... I love it, and Dallas has wanted it since the first time he was old enough to say so. I think it looks better on him with his dark hair.

Dana plans so far sound great; happy to hear the ressies were straightened out...

If we could only do one park US/IOA we would choose IOA! that is where the new Harry Potter section is located (we can't wait to see it) and I think you will really enjoy Seuess Landing (even if Dallas is a bit older)...all of you will love Spider Man and Posideon's adventure...
not sure how you would feel about the Hulk; Danny and the kids love it...that is not my kind of ride...

Now, US has Jaws, the Mummy (Gwendolyn & Dayne said it reminds them of Rock N Roller Coaster-except you do not go upside down), Men In Black (alot like Toy Story & Buzz--lots of fun), Earthquake, Tornado, Sherk, E.T. and so on...

hmmm...decisions...don't think I was much help there

Plans are sounding good, Dana. We've done both sides of US--Mark and I prefer the original. But then we are NOT as big of roller coaster nuts as we used to be (age does that to you) and we no longer have little ones for Dr. Seuss area and we aren't Potter fans at all. I'm sure whichever one you choose though that you'll have a great time.

I am liking your plans so far. I can't believe that you were able to get Universal Studios tickets free. When you said you drank a lot of Diet Coke, you really meant it. It's been so long since we've been to Universal Studios that I couldn't recommend which one to go see. Heck, I don't even remember if Island of Adventures was even open back then.

Thank goodness all of your dining ADRs were intact. I know I had problems looking up some of our's but when I called, the castmember confirmed they were all still there.

Hey Dana!! Yea, gotta move some stuff around, i'm supposed to be on vacation the week AFTER MVMCP, so we'll see. I can't wait to go!! Love the MVMCP, the parade is awesome, and the decorations, and the castle. WHOA momma!!! You're gonna love it!!

It has been a long time since we went to US/IOA. Dallas was only 19 months old. I was thinking of HPL so we will most likely do that side. I'm not a big roller coaster fan as you know so that won't be happening .

I think Dallas would enjoy Spiderman and HPL though because he was a big Spiderman fan. I wasn't real impressed with Twister when we were there and ET was down and MiB wasn't there yet. He does like the Simpsons though...........hmmmmmmm.

I agree Kathy, I don't know what the big deal is with HP . I have to see if there are any youtube videos of the ride to see if it is anything we would like.

I love me some diet Coke........ When we went to US/IOA, I think I liked the Studios part better. IOA is more thrill rides and I'm just not a trill ride type girl.......

I was very glad my ADRs were intact. Dallas was really wanting to try Via Napoli, and Kona is one of my favs. The CM did say they had been having issues with the system and they were working on it and that it should be worked out by the end of the week.

I can't wait girl. I am so excited that I can't hardly stand it. I wish we could stay longer, but we will be cutting the money close since it is Christmas time. I told Dale that this trip is my Christmas gift, but that doesn't do a thing for getting the kids their gifts.......

Chris has Grumpy, and I have Tigger, but I know Tigger is one you can't get anymore.....so We'll see what we can find for ya

I think the 9th is when I have the Kona set up for 1:45 that day and we can add ya'll to the table so let me know. I like eating near the park when we are going to a party there. I need a Tink hat............. I love that my ticker says 1 month 2 weeks and 1 day.
