Hi all:

So, just what are the Osborne Lights, where are they, when are they and why should we experience them?

I'm glad you asked because I wondered the same exact thing! Just what the heck these things are!

I'll try not to spend a thousand words, but here are my thoughts:

If you enjoy riding about looking at Christmas lights on houses, or if you are someone who just likes lots of shiny, twinkly things, then the Osbourne Lights is a lovely Christmas treat.

While you don't get to drive through the display, walking allows you to get a sidewalk view of entire houses seemingly made out of shimmering Christmas lights. The Church is really impressive. There is Christmas music playing as you stroll through the streets (generally wall to wall people if you are going right near Christmas Day) and there are some Disney themed things included. Stitch was peeking over a rooftop with a Santa hat on, for example, and toward the end of the walk you get to the New Years lights that count down to the new year.

I enjoyed it. It was truly spectacular and, well, I'm a sucker for shiny Christmas things. However, I can really see why this got the neighbors crazy when it was set up where people lived. It can border on being TOO much. Think of the yard near you that seems to pack every conceivable yard art, massive spotlights, and strings of lights hanging from everything that will hold them up. Now magnify it time 10,000.

But that's why it works so well at Disney World. We are there to see things x10,000!

Also this year it will be a new display. The residental street where most of the lights were has been torn down for the new attraction.

The lights are going to be in a new area of MGM, so it is like going to see a whole new things this year.

If you decided to go, don't forget to get the glasses they hand out. It will change the lights into angels, or it did in the past. The first time we went we did not know about the glasses and missed it totally. Another things is they have a way of making it seem like it is snowing in the middle of Floirda. So with the snow, xmas light, xmas music and everything it really gets you into the mood.

You should go because I didn't get to see them this past year. BOO HOO> I was so excited after hearing such wonderful things and seeing them on a WDW special. Well they didn't have them last year and I was so dissappointed. You never know when you will get the chance again so if your there and they are up I say go, you might regret it if you don't.

Do you pick up the glasses at the park entrance or where? I have never seen the lights and am looking forward to it. Where is the new location going to be this year?

In the past... they offered the glasses to you as you entered the area where the lights are located.

Location of the lights are going to be shifted a little. From what I understand they will be more on New York street, which I understand also has changed its name. They will basically be in the same area of MGM towards the back.
