Just wanted to say to all you Administrative Professionals

Nothing, but I'm not surprised because I just started working there a week ago. Also because, on my first day, they sent me a dish garden and the agency I'm working through delivered a huge cookie cake! (The other admin. asst., who has worked there part time for 8 years, did receive flowers today - but they weren't as nice as my dish garden.)

Okay, based on page one, I won't ever look to work in an attorney's office. LOL!

I e-mailed a friend today. I asked him if he was good to his secretary today. He said he gave her a Starbuck's gift certificate, something else from there, and a cruise down one of the ports. I want to work for HIM! He thought it was "not bad."

When I first saw this thread (while at work), I was embarrassed to say a BIG NOTHING!!! But, about 2:00, right before I left, my boss handed me an envelope with a 'bonus' in it for the recent heavy workload. $100 cash and, a hand-written (only I can read) "Thanks, Kim!" Better than any LUNCH, let me tell you!!

I hope the receptionist and the office manager where my DH works liked his gift to them. He gave them each a $20 gift certificate to the movies. I know it doesn't sound like much, but it came from his pocket - he's not putting it on his expense sheet or anything and he also remembered about it being a special day two weeks ago. The company itself didn't do anything to acknowledge them (it's a small company, maybe 30 people or so).

I felt that the company should have done something, even if it was just bringing in pizza or something to make them feel appreciated.

All the aides and secretaires in the school got a potted plant from the Student Government . The building secretaries and teachers had a breakfast spread, and a lunch buffet for us.

We also all got a scratch off lottery ticket.

I got our secretary a gift cert to Bath & Body Works and some Lindt chocolates. I figured my boss would forget to do anything but he went out and bought me a beautiful hanging flower basket and put a $100. gift cert to a really nice restaurant in it along with a "thanks for all you do" note. He is a great guy to work for and rewards me well for my efforts here. After reading some of the posts, I am very happy I have him for a boss.


My dh sent me a beautiful floral arrangement for being "his secretary." He does it every year because I always make his dr & dentist appointments and take care of him all year long. What a great hubby.

Have a cute story

My DD got up yesterday morning and gave me a hug and a kiss - I asked her what was that for - she said Secretaries Day!!!! I said to her - I'm not your secretary. She said - yes you are, Daddy is the Boss and I am the worker, so that make you the secretary!!!!!

It just made my day (even better than getting a gift from my boss)
