Just want to share something I posted over at VMK forums and see how everyone here...

Totally agree that there is an "IN" group ---- I will be nice here and say this

:disrocks: I have great friends here!! And have a great time with you guys!! I am just about convinced that gettiing certain things are almost impossible.

I too was missed on Saturday. I only had four people in my room last night for any length of time and the room never made it to the "popular" list. 5 minutes to midnight (eastern), a VMK_Staff member popped in, looked around, and popped out. So, no, apparently you did not need to be on the list.

I just spent 30 minutes "contacting" them about the judging and hit send and got an error!

Should have written it in word and the n copied and pasted..arggggg.

Well I have to get up very early in the morning so it is off to bed.

Night all.

I had a reason why I couldn't get judged on Sunday. My room wasn't named to Celebration, and I could not stay up at 10 ET. Had to work the following day.

While I do feel that, judging by the reports of this thread, Disney's handling of the VMK room contest was mishandled and not fair, I should have come to expect this from Disney, since they seem to hold a prejudice against adults getting involved with kids stuff (i.e., character greetings, VMK).

I wonder if they even realize that it's OUR money that's going into their wallets to indulge our fan worship?

Not to mention that several of us are DVC members--talk about a good chunk there-----and they do realize that it is our money--would you like to see tht lovely deed I signed?? :rotfl: :rotfl: Not to mention several DISers have annuals, and go to the parks 2/3 times a year. Just visit some of the boards that can be well seen. Just go to the Codes board. . . .

In group....I thought that was us!! Sure, the VMK staff has their little clique, but ours is a hundred times better. We help each other toward games goals, we provide fun and laughter to each other at the end of a long day, we're there for each other as a friend. I don't know, maybe it's just me, but I would rather be part of our "in" group than the VMK group. Good friends are worth more than getting to wear a new outfit/pin/hat a few weeks early. :goodvibes

Now, off to work where my warm fuzzy feelings will be quashed as I am sure to be blamed for something else. LOL (On a good note, we are going on day two of no one quitting and blaming me :rotfl: )

I just posted this at another board, and the post was immediately deleted.

If you read this and perhaps agree with parts of it, or if only that you believe that censorship of attempted reasonable discourse is inappropriate, I ask that you post this to any other Disney board's VMK forums that you subscribe to. Thank you.

=====
well my friend ### told me to go there to talk with yavn to get my cursed storm i kind of had an appointment lol then it got real crowded
=====
###, ### and I got our cursed storms last night from yavn for free :Tongue:
=====
if you hang out or in the rooms with all the people from this forum, you will see Yavn pop into a room.
=====
Yavn is the nicest producer of a game in the world! Lol I asked him if the Pirate Pin Code and the Cursed Storm Pin Code mix up would be fixed soon. And I told him about how the people who used the pirate code can not get cursed storm now. And he gave me cursed storm!!

OK, this is a very mangled, pulped dead horse, but I will beat it a little bit more.

Do you at all realize what posts like these are doing?

Yes, it is very nice of the developer to try to remedy the problems of inadvertent code mix-ups, but by fixing the problem one person at a time, and only to the few people who have "access" to him, and then posting publically that you were the beneficiary of the good deed is only perpetuating and validating the accusations of favoritism of the privileged and favored few.

You should all know that there are a growing number of adults who spend a lot of cash to Disney, as annual pass-holders, Disney Vacation Club time-share owners, Disney stock shareholders, adults who are not afraid or unwilling to voice their complaints who are increasingly irritated at favoritism and nepotism.

You should all know that these people are now by-passing the VMK feedback "black hole" and are now beginning to contact higher levels of Disney management and guest relations, because of their unhappiness at how things have been done at VMK.

Please note that I too am affected by the Bling / Cursed storm mix-up. I have not asked for a Cursed storm pin for compensation -- I would not accept one from the developers. Rather, I would like to see a global fix of some sort, rather than fanning the flames of resentment of everyone else who is not so lucky.

I like VMK a lot, but I know too many who are angry at the perceived favoritism and nepotism, and I would be sad to see VMK trashed by Disney, when Disney realizes how many high-spending Disney fans are now more and more loudly voicing their disapproval and speaking more and more harshly about their unhappiness.

I'm not surprised that because of my views and posts, I will never be in the "privileged circle" -- I am only a little bit saddened by this.

I am much more sad that because of this post and others I've made like it, some of you will likely remove me from your friends list. Before you do, please understand that I post not as an attack against people and their good fortune, or against developers and VMK staff who have put so much time and effort into a wonderful game, but as someone who looking at the "big picture" can't understand how or why things have gotten to where they are.

I just posted this at the VMK fan site. We'll see if I get banned, lose all my friends, get stripped of my Complete Loser tag, or what.

Bezoar, this was very well said. Hopefully you will not lose "friends" because of the feelings you have expressed. You are an up-standing citizen in my eyes with the VMK Community and I would hope that the VMK staff see that.

I completely agree with you, I have said since the begining that if VMK keeps going the way it is it is not long for Disney

that is exactly what I wanted to say you just did it better ;)Thanks

JeanJoe, is it me, or did they already remove your thread on the other site. I pulled it up and then went to take a shower. Now I am back and it says I cannot acces this post. ??? :eek:

Well, apparently it won't be a problem, because it was deleted by the moderators.

I have a favor to ask of you all then: if any of you subscribe to any other boards than the Dis (no, you don't have to admit it ;) ), could you re-post my original post? I'm editing it to mention its fate on the other board.

I believe censorship of posts that attempt to present a reasoned argument should not be arbitrarily deleted without comment, but I suppose they believe otherwise, and it is their board to moderate.

If you don't mind, I'm reposting this as a new thread, for potential wider readership. Sorry, WebmasterAlex, for the repost.

no wonder I could not find it!

Not at all surprised that it was removed......

I would help you if I belonged to another board but the only other VMK board I belong to and am trying very hard not to post to any longer but they really get my dander up is that one we don't talk about and they have already removed it.....

Mal

I guess the other possible, or even likely, outcome is that I will be permanently banned from VMK.

Worse things have happened, but if that's the case, I will miss you all.

as I said on the other thread, we don't allow "bashing" of other boards. I don't think mentioning the post was deleted qualifies as bashing but I dont' think it would be hard to get to the line

I've edited all my mosts to remove identifying the board from which it was deleted.

Others may wish to do the same. :)

I will say this--Out " IN " group is much more cooler than anyone else's out there.

To all the DISers and the Webmasters/owners--this is a great sight that I have grown attached too over sometime--there is NO ONE out there that can top the DIS!! You have done a great job with our community and keep up the great work!!

Not only have the Webmasters(thanks Alex) and Webowners done a great job here it is the people who make up the DIS that make it the BEST site on the web! For the most part everyone here on the DIS are outstanding give you the shirt off their back wonderful people. I love the Dis and Thank you all for making it great!!!! :wave2:
