Just want to confirm current NYS travel rules

I was hoping I could just confirm the current travel rules as we are scheduled to fly to FL from NY later this month. I wasn't able to find everything on the CDC website. It looks like there are no requirements to fly to FL, so no pretesting required. To fly back into NY, and to test out of the quarantine, we can get a negative rapid test up to 72 hours prior to our flight, then a 2nd negative test at least 72 hours after. DH had 2nd dose of vaccine end of Feb so he doesn't have to test nor quarantine. Is that all correct? Also, does he have to show proof of vaccination and us show proof of negative test to board flight back to NY?

Your facts are right. I don’t know about showing proof of vaccination as I haven’t flown yet. I don’t believe you show anything re: your test results. There is a form to fill out online or when you arrive. And posters have reported being called to follow up on if you’re following quarantine.

But you don’t have to show anything to board the plane.

I don't understand how they check for this. I am from NYS. How do they know when you fly back to NYS (Buffalo for example) that you are flying from Florida, and need to be checked? do you have to go through some sort of line, that shows a paper documented form that you were tested in florida? Thanks.

You will fill a form out upon arrival in New York, no matter where you're coming from.

My experience in December and February (upon return to NY): the National Guard was waiting for our flight to arrive at the airport. Travelers were required to show proof of filling out the NYS Traveler Health Form (Screenshot of completion) https://forms.ny.gov/s3/Welcome-to-New-York-State-Traveler-Health-Form or fill out a paper form upon arrival. We did opt in to receive texts from the DOH (or you would receive phone calls) on the form, and received multiple texts requesting responses. The vaccination exemption to quarantine was announced by Governer Cuomo on Thursday but no infomration is yet posted to the NYS Travel Advisory. https://www.lawandtheworkplace.com/...-guidelines-for-fully-vaccinated-individuals/

You are not required to provide proof of testing while flying to NY (it is not required if you quarantine 10 days), and only need to keep proof of testing in case it is requested by the DOH. HTH.
