We're first time visitors to Universal, will be arriving July 11-16 and booked a HP package. Decided today to take the plunge and upgrade to club level (I hope to keep it a secret from the hubby and kids till we get there :cool2:). I'm looking for any feedback from anyone that has stayed club level - what they thought, how they were treated, etc. Also any pics of the lounge, food offerings etc. We're so excited about trying something other than Disney this year! :woohoo:

We stayed club level last year at RPR & loved it (going club level again this year). We kept it a secret from the kids until we got there & it was a great surprise for them. It was definitely one of the highlights of the trip from their perspective. They loved being able to go grab a snack or drink pretty much whenever they wanted. DH & I loved it b/c we didn't have to keep a stash of food/water bottles in the room & we always had a great breakfast before heading off to the parks each morning.

I'm sure others who have stayed club level at HRH can give you more specifics about that location.

Have a great trip!

We've stayed at the HRH club level twice...It is nice for the convenience of snacks and drinks. But I think the best part was having breakfast in the lounge it saves alot of time. :thumbsup2 Otherwise you either need to go downstairs to eat or to one of the park restaraunts.

Its also nice to have the night time snacks...I like the macadamia nut and white chocolate cookies.:)

Club level is GREAT, don't get me wrong, but our only problem with HRH last time we stayed were the greedy guests - you know who I mean, the people who think that "snack" means "evening meal". I mean, we go for a light breakfast, after-the-park refreshments or pre-dinner appetizer. Then there are those who think the lounge is there to take the place of actually going out to dinner. The people who fill their plates sky-high and to the rim. That's the only turnoff for me. Maybe it was because it was summer and crowded. Disney's club (concierge) lounges are not like that. Different crowd? I don't know. This time we are doing PB club level so we are eager to see what that's like.

We'd be doing the same thing as you, just so we wouldn't have to pay for a fridge rental and packing our own breakfast items. We'll be bringing a few snacks with us, but primarily for use on our car ride down. I really like the idea of grabbing a light breakfast, or having access to bottled water, that kind of thing. We're going in the summer, so who knows what we'll see?

Yes I've seen them too...There were a group of three very young kids (no parents) who came for the nightly snack, loaded there plates with cookies and did not finish them and then put there plates back on the buffet table. I have to admit I was kind of upset though I did not say anything. I have a tough time tolerating stupidity.:confused3

But other than the one group everyone else seemed to be polite and well mannered. CLub level was stil well worth it.:thumbsup2

I say youre paying high $ for club, take advantage of it.But don't be gluten about it.I'll be one that fills my plate,I will finish what I put on it.You may call it greedy but I will get every penny I paid for that privlidge and I WILL USE IT.

how bout that richie rich, why should I pay for food thats free

We loved club at HRH . One at PBH not so handy as it not on the same floor. We have only been Sept/Oct and it was never really that busy just as well as it not that big. Have to say we usually pop in for a beer/wine before going out for a meal kids get a snack and a drink however last year was a bit different club was really quiet apart from 3 other british couples. We got chatting and didn't notice how much wine had been drunk. Staff kept topping my glass up and when we left to go out for a meal found I had a bit too much and never made it out. Kids opted to go for an ice cream instead which was lucky. It was fajitas that night and the kids really enjoyed them usually they opt for a cracker and a piece of cheese. We would go club level every time so nice to come back from the parks and stop off for a few minutes to get a cold drink.
have to say I always encourage the girls not to take to much food as I hate waste. Never usually take any more than a bottle of water or two to the parks as it a nuisance to carry. Like the fact you have somewhere to sit other than in the room being 5 of us we are always in each others way.

I think if you are paying an extra $70/night for club, you should get your money's worth out of it, otherwise why bother? The same items are available in other areas of the hotel that you can pay for per item.

I am like Donald and agree with Damo. I am paying the price, I am getting my money's worth. We usually start the day later so we eat late big lunches. By the time we get to the "happy hour" setting, we are still pretty full. We may take some to nibble on then and some for a bit later.

Don't worry Donald....Jim has been seen with a full plate and no one has even batted an eye :lmao:

We stayed at HRH club last year and there were a few things that I really liked about it.

First, I loved grabbing an easy bite for breakfast before going to the park. The staff were really great about providing trays if people wanted to bring breakfast back to their room. This worked well for us on one morning when 2 of our kids were just so pokey! Breakfast includes cereal, muffins, bagels, cinnamon roles, yogurt, fruit, and juice.

Second, before we headed out to the park in the morning, and again at night, we'd stop in for bottles of water. The water isn't out on the counter, but the staff is more than willing to provide you with bottled water - you just need to tell them how many.

Third, we have teenage boys and they really enjoyed grabbing a snack right before going out for dinner. I was happy that they were able to take the "edge" off of their hunger before going out to dinner. This really did save us on our dinner bills because normally these kids can all down an appetizer plus a full meal.

We only made it to the lounge one night for cookies, but they were good.

I'm not sure if we'll make the splurge again this year, but we certainly enjoyed the convenience!

We did HRH Club in Aug 09. Although I enjoyed breakfast and being able to go grab a soda & water during the day, I'm not so sure I'd do it again. During the evening, they had staff giving out only 2 cookies per guest and you couldn't go back for more:confused3
I'd like to give Royal Pacific club a try sometime.

Are you able to get a beer during the afternoon? When we stayed club level at WDW, we just asked the host/hostess and they happily grabbed a couple for us whenever we wanted/asked. I see the times are listed at 5:30 - 7, but we may like one before or after. I know we can go to the bar, but if we can get it on club level, its just so much easier (and less expensive :goodvibes !)
