Watch out Disney World! We’re coming for you!! That’s right…after a couple of failed attempts and lots of planning, Lauren (lauren_elizabeth), Kristen (xoktenox), and myself are FINALLY going to visit our favorite place in the world together!!
We will all be staying at Old Key West for the first time!! Kristen will arrive first on the 2nd of June and stay offsite before transferring to OKW on the 3rd! Then Lauren and I will arrive on the 4th (around the same time so we can ride ME together!) and heading straight to OKW!! We are all SO EXCITED!!
Without further adieu, let us introduce ourselves!!
Princess Kimmy – I am 21 years old and this will be my third real trip in as many years to the World! (I went once as a child, but only to the MK for a partial day and don’t remember anything besides Fantasyland and Spectro.) I work in the billing department of a global conferencing company and love it. I’m infamous for wearing a tiara out in public and am known for being a princess! I am also a single mom and feel so blessed that I have been able to take my son to WDW every year since he was born. Everyone who knows me knows that my other obsession besides Disney is football. I love the Denver Broncos, playing fantasy football, and am also on a co-ed flag football team. I'm also obsessed with Hollywood Studios, and could ride ToT all day if they let me! In fact, last time I was there, I rode it 11 times in one day! One of the guys even let me do the safety spiel with him because I knew it so well by then!
Landon – My little man! Landon will be 2 ½ this trip! I’m so excited he’ll have been 3 times before he’s even 3! His first trips were taken at 10 months and 21 months. We watch exclusively Disney stuff in this house and every time he sees the Disney DVD intro on a movie, he’ll start clapping and going “Disney!!” I have him trained well. He loves all Disney/Pixar movies best, though the Pooh movies have a special place in his heart. He sleeps with Buzz, Woody AND Bolt every single night. He is a little reserved at first, but warms up to people quickly! He has been talking up a storm lately and loves to pull out our old Disney albums and look at the pictures and also to watch some Disney World dvd’s we have (he calls them “Mickey Mouse Movies”, thanks Kristen!) He is psyched to be going again!
Kristen and Chris-
Me, Kristen, 23 year old full time graduate student, part time bank teller. I’ve been to WDW 4 times as a child and teenager and then 4 more times as an adult, all with Chris. This will be our 5th trip together! The last time we were in the World was this past December, only for one day though while we were visiting Chris’ family on the West coast of FL. I’m pursuing my Master’s degree in Education so most of my time is spent either at school, student teaching, doing homework or working at the bank. However, in my free time I LOVE zumba, shopping, reading, Law & Order, Criminal Minds and the Biggest Loser lol My favorite Disney movie is Beauty and the Beast but my favorite Disney character is probably Minnie.
Here I am on our last trip in July 2010:
Chris, my fiancé, a 26 year old cable guy. Chris spent 1 day in the Magic Kingdom as a kid with his family so we really counted our first trip together in April 2009 as his first trip. Chris works for our local cable company doing installs, trouble calls, etc. He doesn’t like the job very much at all but it pays the bills and right now, that’s what is important. I’m definitely the one who is Disney obsessed out of the two of us but Chris truly loves it WDW as well. I think he has said to me “I can’t wait to be in Disney again” everyday for the past 2 weeks. In his free time, Chris enjoys working on cars, playing/watching hockey and football, and playing his Xbox. His favorite Disney movie is probably Wall-E or Bolt and his favorite Disney character is Jack Skellington.
Here is Chris in July 2010:
Chris and I have been together for 4 years and are recently engaged! We will be tying the knot on October 28, 2012. Due to the wedding expenses, we’re pretty sure this will be our last trip until after we’re married which doesn’t really make either of us very happy!
This trip is so exciting for us because we will get to see Lauren and Jake again (we met up with them and had some AWESOME luck in December 2009). To make it even more exciting, we’ll be meeting Lauren’s beautiful new addition, Mallory, as well as Kimmy and her handsome little guy, Landon, for the first time!
Lauren, Jake, and Mallory
There is me, Lauren, a 23 year old mama to 2 beautiful kiddos, Jake & Mallory. I was an administrative assistant at a media company for quite awhile and am now a stay at home mama (thanks to my wonderful husband!) I’ve grown up loving all things Disney and I’ve always been obsessed with Disney World. I’ve been 3 times as a child and teenager with the family.
In October 2008, Jake saw Disney for the very first time ever when we took a day trip over to MK & Epcot while in Florida visiting friends. Even though Jake was terrified of the characters up close, it was still so exciting.
In December 2008, one of my besties & I took a GIRLS ONLY trip and we had such a blast!
Fast forward to December 2009, Jake & I took our first full-on Disney World mom/son vacation. IT WAS SO MAGICAL! He was 2 years old and loved every single thing… the characters, the rides, the monorail, the boats, etc.
AND NOW IT’S TIME TO GO AGAIN! Now that you’ve seen a few pictures of Jake, let’s introduce you to him a little more and introduce Miss Mallory for the first time!
Jake – He’s 3 years old and will be just a couple of months shy of turning 4 when we leave for our trip. He’s the class clown in his preschool class, always making people laugh wherever he goes. He has a deep love for dinosaurs and if you hold up a picture of one, you’re bound to learn the name. I don’t know how he can remember those long and hard to pronounce names, but he does it. He loves Disney almost as much as I do and seriously cannot wait for this trip. He doesn’t know when we’re leaving, just knows that we’ll be going sometime this year. Every single time we get in the car he asks me, “Mommmm are you sure we’re not driving to the airport to get on a plane for Disney World?!” I can’t wait to surprise him! The best thing? He’s over 40 inches this year! HELLLLOOO SPLASH, BIG THUNDER, SOARIN’ and DINOSAUR!
Mallory – She’s our newest addition and is already a little princess. She’ll be 3 months old at the time of our trip and we can’t wait to show her all of our favorite things at the World. Her big brother is in love with her (as are we!) and it’s so sweet watching them interact together.
Josh – Although he won’t be coming on this trip, I can’t leave my husband out. He’s 25 years old and one of the hardest working men I know. (Hence why he’s not able to come with us) We’ll miss him, but hey – this just means we’ll have to plan another big family trip!
(This past Christmas... and 30 weeks pregnant with Mal!)
We are down to 34 days and counting! This trip will be a special one for many reasons… It’ll be Mallory’s very first visit to Disney World, we’re staying & experiencing everything with Kimmy & Landon and we’ll be spending tons of time with Kristen & Chris, who we met up with in December 2009 and like Kristen said, we had AWESOME luck!
Stay tuned for ADR's!! We will post those soon!!
