Just this minute back from a great stay at the Poly!

I'm too lazy to do a trip report, but I just had to post and say what truly great job I think they are doing at the Poly. We saw some crowds, and the Poly was at maximum capacity, but the CMs were just amazing. Housekeeping was on top of everything and did a great job cleaning and everybody else we came in contact with couldn't have been more friendly and helpful -- CMs seemed in genuine good moods! We splurged on concierge, and I'll tell you, I think the blue ribbon award goes to the concierge staff. I have never seen such a chaotic concierge lounge in my life - with kids opening 6 boxes of cereal each and leaving them everywhere, food ground into the floor, people piling on the food like they were bent on eating every meal there -- -- but the CMs kept smiling, cleaning up the mess and helping with whatever anyone needed!

IMO, the Poly is just a greatest place to stay!

Did the crowds thin out substantially after New Year's Eve?

Yes.........somewhat. But it was still pretty crowded until Monday. We knew what we were getting into and went into it with the proper attitude. We'd made all our PS in advance, got lots of fast passes, and just went with the flow!

say, do you have any pics to share of the recently refurbished hawaii longhouse and concierge lounge?
VERY relieved to see your comments on the consierge staff - just booked there for early june - 7 nights! even though i had read a handful of negative remarks on the staff not that long ago.
we haven't been to the poly since '99 - any tips?

I am sooo glad you had a positive experience as we have Concierge booked for Aug. and like others have said, "lately there have been many negative reports". Now for the details! Did you have GV or LV? and what floor were you on? Would you stay in that location again? We have booked GV but are considering changing to LV...and we know we don't want the 2nd floor! Thanks for any info!

You should send your comments to the management at the Poly. They often hear about the problems and not too often about the good things. Hearing about the good service tells them to keep up the good work. Not hearing about the good service can easily develop a cynical attitude that no one cares so why try.

Bring a little into sombodies life.
