Welcome! We returned from the best vacation ever over a week ago and I cannot wait to share it!

I’m Brittney and I just graduated college on May 18th! My boyfriend, Keith and I took this trip to celebrate my graduation! I did a PTR so check it out for more info about us and pre-trip stuff!

A little about us: I love WDW and try to visit as often as I can. I recently became a Disney Vacation Planner and just yesterday received an offer for a full-time job in insurance that pays great! Keith and I have been together almost 6 years now and even though we aren’t engaged yet, we are planning on getting married in WDW in 2014. Keith is very athletic and loves sports, especially baseball. He umpires and is hoping to become a Personal Trainer soon.

About our trip: We drove to WDW from Long Island. We left on 5/20 and arrived in WDW on 5/21. We stayed at Pop Century for 5 days. We had 5 day tickets, no park hopper. This trip was truly the best trip we’ve taken yet and we had so much fun!

We went to Disney together for the first time in August of 2009 and that feels like soo long ago! We also went with my family in August of 2010. It has been awhile since we have been there alone and could just enjoy it just the two of us so that’s what made this trip so great!

Two days later on Sunday, May 20th we were to leave for WDW!

Originally I planned to leave at noon but Keith had a softball game & a baseball game that morning and couldn't let his teams down so we had to wait for him to play the games. I had finished packing and loaded up the car by noon and was very impatient waiting for him to call me and let me know he was home. After waiting what felt like forever around 2:00pm I went to his house and apparently he had just walked through the door. I seem to always call him or show up at his house right when he gets home, he says I have a radar on him lol. So after he showered and we had a cheeseburger we finally left his house and went back to my house before leaving. We got together the last minute things and I said goodbye to my dog, Holly. My mom was mowing the lawn and I had her stop to take some pics of us before we left!

Then at 3:00pm we finally left! The drive to Disney from my house takes around 20 hours and we planned on driving straight through the night, to get there in just under a day. To get there from Long Island, you are on I-95 for almost the whole way down to Florida. I drove first because I know exactly how to get to I-95 from my house. Originally the reason I wanted to leave at noon was because we would avoid traffic and of course as we got close to the city and JFK there was tons of traffic! I was super mad and pointed out to my napping boyfriend how I was right about the traffic. Once it gets warm out, everyone from the city heads out east on the Island for the weekend, and on Sunday afternoon going back toward the city is just not a great idea! Once we got into Brooklyn, traffic broke up and the Verrazano bridge was in the distance, I just love that bridge! Side note: I wanted to do something fun for the car ride so I made signs of each state and figured the person driving through that state could hold up the sign and we could take pics all the day down. So here will start our state pictures! First, New York!

We took this pic right before getting on the bridge so soon after going through Staten Island we made it to New Jersey and I-95!

At around 6:45pm in NJ we stopped at a rest stop to use the bathroom and get a snack. I got Auntie Ann's pretzel sticks and Keith got 2 burgers from Burger King. This is when we switched and Keith started to drive. Off to Delaware!

I had Panera Bread gift cards from work so I wanted to save money and use them for dinner that night. I had bought a book before we left called Drive I-95 and it was really great! It had exit by exit info on food, gas & lodging etc and even little things to do at different exits. So I looked to find the nearest Panera Bread and there was one in Maryland! We stopped for Panera around 8:00pm.

Keith continued to drive and we got gas. Then I drove again. We were now in...

Then we drove into...

I think while we were in NC we stopped at a rest stop because I wrote down we stopped at 1:45am. Then we were headed into South Carolina.

We stopped at this really great gas station/store at 3:50am for gas and I got coffee, they had a Dunkin Donuts coffee station! Then Keith drove. I think we stopped again in SC and we switched. Keith was totally sleeping as soon as I started driving but it was the best because there was no one on the road! We passed really pretty palm trees and a sign to let us know we were entering...

Around like 7:30am I think I started to get really hungry and feel sick so I stopped at McDonalds for some breakfast! Keith was still sleeping and didnt want anything so I took my time and rested a bit. Then I continued driving until we got gas again and Keith started driving. The whole time Keith would drive after an hour he would complain his back hurt him. I thought it was so funny because he was acting like a baby and I had to drive more often then him. We crossed into Florida yay! But soon after passing through Jacksonville we started slowing down and traffic came to a dead stop! We were literally not moving at all! So I used my phone to figure out what was wrong and there was an accident just ahead of us like I thought that closed off I-95 completely! We were only 2 hours from Disney and we were at a dead stop! I was really mad and Keith had the idea to take our Florida picture...

We were so close yet so far! How long were we stuck? Did we make it to Disney as scheduled? You will have to wait until next time to find out! :rolleyes1

Subbing :goodvibes, love the non-familiy TR. That traffic would have been the end of me, being stopped on the road makes me crazy.
