Our reception is over at 3 and then we break until 8:30pm for dessert party. Is there something I could plan for just the two of us? Something low key, possibly relaxing (but not spa-ish)...and memorable (although I'm sure it will all be very memorable. Can this be planned through our wedding planner?

Thanks,

Vanessa

If you are staying at a deluxe resort you can arrange to have private dining set something up for you. Like champagne and chocolate covered strawberries on your balcony (very romantic).

Or arrange with the WDW Florist to have a nice basket delivered that can include anything from wine/champagne to goodies you add in. Ask the florist when you speak to them to arrange this.

I love the private dining idea. Very romantic.:lovestruc

Our ceremony started at 9:00 in Epcot so we were up so early. Our reception was from 10:00 to 3:00 and then we were with our photographer until almost 5:00. We were exhausted by the time we got back to our room. We were staying at The Boardwalk. Even though my dress and shoes were very comfortable, I could not wait to get out of them for a few hours. We basically relaxed, had something light to eat, went though our cards and some gifts and started reading our guestbook. We left our room and walked over to the International Gateway at Epcot around 7:00 or so with a few of our guests that were staying at our hotel. They let us in to Epcot alittle early and we headed to our DP in the UK Lower and met the rest of our guests and our photographer who took even more pictures.

I think just relaxing in your room would be great - I like the idea of ordering up some wine/champagne and goodies (maybe chocolate covered strawberries). BTW - our guests went back to their resorts and in speaking with them after most just relaxed by the pool, had some snacks and got comfortable and then headed back to Epcot.

Like Linda I had an early Epcot ceremony too. We ended up having to rush around and move our things to our new resort - we were each staying in different rooms at POR and then moved to GF together after the wedding.

Something that is not very romantic, but I thought was really neat when I saw another bride arrange to have a portrait done by one of the artists at the GF. They have the ones that do the pastel portraits (not the caricatures which are still fun :goodvibes) in their wedding attire which they then had as a wonderful keepsake of their wedding day.

You can see more details and some pictures of the portraits here:

I have no idea on the costs or anything, I believe it is upwards towards $100.

We went to DHS for the early evening then had a "romantic" meal in the bar area at ESPN ;) between our ceremony and dessrt party

Funny story along those lines: We went back to WDW together in Nov after our Jan wedding and decided to eat at ESPN again (a favorite of DH's). We took a bus to the S/D and walked over. When we came over the bridge I saw Seabreeze Point where we had our ceremony and grabbed DH's hand. He said "I see it", sounding all excited and started pulling me that way, and I was excited he was being so sweet and romantic (I love DH, but he just isn't). A moment later I found out he was talking about ESPN, LOL

I think the private dining or just some nice room service would be a great idea. I wish we had done this in hindsight; we were exhausted the next day and did our BPS. By that evening I had a splitting headache from being so tierd :(

Vanessa, great idea about the portrait. I actually really wanted a caricature done in our wedding ears in our wedding outfits. As we did not have time for this during the wedding, the last time we were in Disney I asked one of the artists if he could do a caricature from a photograph. He said most likely they could - so next time we are heading down to WDW I am going to bring a photo and get one done.

Do you have an idea how much the portrait thing costs? I love this idea!!!

Thanks for the ideas everyone! Dining and a nap will be a must. The portrait is nice, although I'm not sure what I would do with it when I got it home. I thought about renting a boat and having a meal on it, but it's in November...not sure how weather will be. Thanks again!
