Just got back from 4 nights at the Yacht Club.

It was a great room and great resort but Bay Lake is better... I thought I would feel the opposite but apart from the awesome walk to Epcot I am drawn back to my Bay Lake.

that is just weird to me! lol I am a Yatch Club person!! I am doing BLT in 20 days, and I am not that jazzed about it! But I will get thru it somehow!!;)

We stayed at the Yacht Club in 2009 (before we owned DVC) and we had a room that when we stepped on the balcony I could practically talk to my kids at SAB except we would have had to shout, but we simply loved it. With that being said we own at BLT and are checking in for the first time in 39 days and are completely excited about it.

Thanks for your post it is always good to read postive comments about BLT and makes our upcoming trip even more anticipated!

We've stayed at both, and love YC/BC so much better than BLT. It could have something to do with the fact that EPCOT is our favorite park, but we do stay at BLT for easy access to the MK. We are staying at BLT in a couple of weeks.

I stayed at Yacht Club three times pre-DVC, looking forward to BCV in less than three weeks. Haven't stayed at BLT yet, but hope to in the future. If you like it better than the Epcot Resort area it must be great!

I've never stayed at YC, however our first DVC experience was BCV. When we decided to buy we went for BLT, because nothing beats being "Mickey's neighbor". However, I did like BCV because there was more to do at night. See, DD sleeps about 11 hours a night and DW sleeps about 8 hours. I on the other hand only need about 6 hours, so I often go out and walk around at night. BCV offered me more places to walk. Still, nothing beats the convenience of BLT!

Sorry, just can't agree with you on this one. While I have never stayed at YC, I have stayed at BCV and BLT. While BLT's location and its proximity to MK and the monorail is great, I think it is the only thing it has going for it vs. YC/BC/BCV (although for many that is the more important and defining distinction). IMHO, BLT just doesn't have any character.

To each their own, but I find BLT to be much more relaxing and serene.

We stayed at the YC once, prior to DVC ownership and we thouroughly enjoyed it. I have resisted staying at BLT, it reminds me of my Contemporary stays when I was a kid, and the ultra modern decor and high rise just doesn't do it for me. Since DVC we rarely do simple hotel/studio stays at Disney, we always get 2brs, so for that reason alone I would now pick BLT over the YC!

dear n.disneycm...how did you get blt since you just joined &
ssr is your home resort? especially with so many waitlisting @ blt?

I couldn't imagine going back to hotel room. I used to want to stay at YC/POLY/GF...but now that we are DVC and have stayed in a fabulous 2 bedroom villas at SSR,BWV,BLT,AKV I could never go back!!! The Yacht Club is pretty and is so nice and close to Epcot..but other then that...it's a hotel. I LOVED BLT also OP. I can't wait to stay there again in the future! Now my husband on the other hand hated it. So..to each their own I guess!

To the OP you are making me nervous.:) We are staying at BCV for the first time this trip passing up on our beloved BLT and I am nervous that we won't enjoy it as much as we do BLT.

I would not be nervous, opinions always vary. Both resorts have lots going for them.

You are going to have such a great time at BCV, the morning and evening walks, the pool, walking distance to epcot and studios, the food.
Can not wait until November for my trip.:cool1:

People do have differing opinions. And it's actually a good thing. If we all like the same, it would be difficult to find availability. :)

We've never stayed at YC, but we've stayed at BCV many times. And it is our favourite resort. In March 2010, we stayed at BLT for the first time. We were so excited to try the new resort and the fact that it was on the monorail and it's walking distance to MK, we were positive we would add on. But, it was disappointing. BLT gave us a feeling of an offsite hotel and not a Disney resort. The rooms were fine and the CMs (although we saw only a few of them) were very nice, but it just didn't feel like Disney. It was strange walking into the Contemporary and feeling like we just stepped into Disney. Also, I remembered mentioning that it's strange to be in Disney property without the Disney music. :confused3 It's things like this that we take for granted on other Disney resorts. I didn't realize it until we heard other music. At first we didn't know quite what the strange feeling was until we realized they were playing Alternative (which we love, but strange to hear it at Disney).

So we decided we wouldn't stay there unless our other resort choices were full.:(

Now you guys have me a bit nervous. We are staying there in November for at least part of our trip and I hope we are not disappointed. We usually stay at SSR and I know they are totally different types of resorts. Looking forward to staying next door to Mickey.

We stayed at BCV and BLT last November. I was super jazzed up about BCV after reading everything here. It was great to have SAB and being able to walk to Epcot. It was fine, but I really did not like the room layout at all (we had a 1BR). I felt it was very cramped, particularly if we had the sofa bed pulled out for my DS. Maybe it wasn't necessarily cramped but I just felt like the flow of the room was off or something. When we moved to BLT, it was SOOOO much better. I know - it does help having the second bathroom, but even without that, the room was so much more spacious in the living area as well as the bedroom.

I'd still go back to BCV but more for having SAB, Cape May, and the convenience of Epcot. We unfortunately did not get to go over to the Boardwalk area b/c of my DS not feeling well for that portion of the trip.

GL!

We always split stays with BLT and BCV or BWV-best of both worlds.
