We are going to London probably the end of June 2013.
I would love to take the train into Paris for a day or two and see Disneyland Paris.
Can this park be done in a day? Should I plan more than one day?
Is it better to stay onsite?

TIA!!

Staying onsite will give you EMH which could be vital on a short trip.

How long you'd need for the parks depends on what you want to do. Do you just want a flavour of it or are you hoping to really experience it?

1 day is enough to get a flavour. 2 days is enough to do most rides and in 3 days you should be able to do everything, especially if they're weekdays.

If you're a Disney regular, I'd suggest you spend more time in Paris. It's a truly beautiful city and America has nothing like it. If you're only spending 3 days in France, I'd spend 2 days in Paris.

Whatever you do, I'm sure you'll have a great time. Make sure you don't miss Dreams! It's a bit special!

Getting the train in an out is a great way to travel.

But the only downside is that you won't get to DLRP until at least lunchtime as the London-DLRP train doesn't leave until quite late.

For that reason I'd recommend a night there so you can have a afternoon and then another day. (The direct train leaves at 6/7pm)

As another poster said if you stay onsite then you'll get an extra 2 hours in the morning which are very quiet and worth going to. :)

Have fun planning! X

Stay onsite for extra magic hours. I would try to get to dlp as early as possible and stay till the very end next day

The first time I went to DLP I spent about 7 hours in Disneyland, and that was enough to take all the major rides (BTM, Space Mountain, Star Tours, Indiana Jones, POTC), but not enough to take in everything (and I didn't even enter WDS that visit). It took me a second visit to see more of Disneyland and WDS, and a third visit before I found time to see Animagique and Cinemagique (which are both pretty good).

So it depends on how much you want to see and if you want to make time to see the shows/parades as well as to go on all the rides!

Would completely agree with previous posters about EMH - the queue times are really short during EMH (when I went earlier this month, I walked on to Peter Pan and Buzz Lightyear during EMH, both of which had >60 minute queues later in the day). An alternative to staying on-site would be to get an AP - Dream and I think the 20th anniversary Fantasy give passholders EMH as well (in addition to other benefits like merchandise/food discounts) - it could work out more cost effective to get an AP and stay off-site than to stay on-site depending on offers and season (but you'd have to check and work out prices for this!).

Train wise - an alternative to the direct London-Disneyland train is to take a Eurostar from London-Lille, then a TGV from Lille-Disneyland (The Eurostar website allows bookings for this 3 months in advance). It takes longer than the direct train due to the transit at Lille (which can be 30 minutes to 1.5 hours - though 1.5 hours isn't too bad as there is a shopping centre right next to the station), but there are much more timings available and I've found it easier to get a £69 return using this route than with the direct train.

If you are coming into Paris and staying in Paris at least 2 nights the Eurostar takes 2.15 from St Pancras to Gare du Nord in Paris. From there you can either take an RER 1 stop to Chatelet-Les Halles and change onto the RER A which takes you to the gates of DLP in 40 mins.

So a 3h15 journey from the heart of London to DLP. :thumbsup2

You also have 1 Eurostar train more or less very hour so you can leave on the 1st one and go back on the last one to get the most out of your trip

If you are staying in Paris the whole time a day transport ticket can be bought for 15,20¬ - It's a Mobilis 1-5 zone - This gives you unlimited transport on Metro/Bus/RER.

You can catch the RER A direct from several stops in Paris and it will take you between 30 and 60 minutes depending on where you'd catch it.

I agree with Happy Tappy concerning visiting DLP and Paris - even with 3 days or 2.5 taking off transport you'll just stratch the surface of Paris itself without a day off for DLP :goodvibes
