I have been looking at going to Florida next week for the NHRA Drag Races in Gainesville but the airfares have been a little higher than what I wanted to pay. I kept looking and finally they came down. I am flying JetBlue down non-stop and AA back with a connection.

For JetBlue I booked on points on Monday for 13000 points going down, they wanted $179 cash. I was willing to do the points because of the initial low AA fare which I'll get to. On Tue JB dropped the fare to 10,700 points and $149. Because I was with in the free cancellation period they re-booked me at the lower points. Then yesterday thing got crazy. My flight dropped to 2,700 points or $38 cash. Again I was able to re-book at the lower point rate.

On Monday AA wanted $125 for the basic economy- they pick the seat and last boarding group. As I am flying by myself I didn't care where I sat etc for 2 quick flights between MCO-CLT-BOS and if my carry on had to be gate checked it was no big deal. I booked it and then yesterday with in the 24 hour free cancellation periods they dropped fares so I could get regular economy picking my seat and not being in the last group for $103. I put a 24 hour hold on it and cancelled the original ticket. When I went to pay today I checked fares again and the economy fare had gone down to $60. I cancelled the hold and put the new fare on hold.

I also looked and the following Wed JB had also dropped fares to around $38 and they even had some $38 fares returning to BOS mid-week.

In the end I am flying R/T for around $65, the AA fare and then the Govt fees on JB.

I noticed today that Frontier was offering crazy low fares to destinations in FL. Sometimes, the taxes and fees end up costing more than the actual airfare.

With concerns about coronavirus, there are many reports of leisure travel customers cancelling not only foreign travel, but domestic, as well. Many corporations are cancelling employee travel. The airlines are going to have lots of seats to sell and are incentivizing people to fly.

We are going PVD-MCO in July. JetBlue was very high and we got decent prices for Southwest back in January. JetBlue dropped their BOS-MCO prices this week as well. Why do I torture myself by checking??? I just keep checking to see if Southwest drops their flights.

We are also flying home on Aug 1- we must be on the same flight. I just checked and saw that it rose to $409. (We originally were on the 3:45 pm flight but they cancelled it and moved us to the earlier flight)

I just looked for fun for our Aug dates...BOS to MCO on AA as low as $91 round trip including all fees/taxes. I hope SW has good prices on the 12th when they release

Do you have to book with SW?? I don't think I could pass up $91!!!

I saw fabulous AA fares for our trip dates too. Our friends snagged fantastic fares on JetBlue. Southwest doubled down and went higher.

Does anyone know, if I book Jet Blue and the price goes down, do I have to call to rebook? Or can I do it online myself? This would be with cash, not points. Thanks!

I booked for July BOS-MCO at the end of Jan on JB. They have gone down $30 each way since. Oh well.

I don't...but the times weren't the greatest with 1 stop each plus I have a ton of SW points and we prefer flying out of PVD instead.

Our Flights in May just came down too! Flying from Portland, ME on Southwest.....booked with points.....and just got 9500 points back! So cash value....$118 to Orlando....$99 back to Maine! We never see this up here!!!

We booked a quick weekend getaway - PVD to MCO at the end of March or early April for $68 roundtrip on Frontier. These prices are crazy!
