Just saw Chronicles of Narnia(& a small warning)

And it is gorgeous! I love this book and was so hoping the movie would hold up. It does ,in fine style. The kids in this movie are totally believable, fresh, and timeless. The animation will blow you away. Warning for younger children The queen is really evil. This PG movie has a pretty intense fight scene. No blood & gore but plenty of grunting, growling, and up-close-and-personal falling. There is a sacrifice scene that is well-handled, but might be too much for tender-hearted youngsters. No blood, but dead is dead and it is obvious what is happening. I won't share anything else, but if you can get through those two scenes you will be rewarded.

I saw it today. I didn't like the book. The story line just doesn't agree with me. I agree though, the fight seen and Aslan's sacrifice is alot to handle. I hated in the book when Aslan died. I didn't need to see it too. JMO. The movie was OK. nothing to write home about. The graphics were great though.

Maybe I'll leave DH at home, he can't stand to watch any of the medical shows on TV !!!!!

I enjoyed it, but agree it's heavy content to watch. What I suggested to my parents is to read the books prior - children handle content better when they have already heard the ending and know what is going to happen. It is not a preschool story, nor was intended to be.

I suggested 1st grade and up for the film for most of the kids. Even then, a couple did bring their 4 year old. They had been reading the book together at night and he was excited about the film. The ONLY scene he was scared of was at the beginning and it wasn't in the book - because he was prepared for the rest. He sat wonderfully through the film and loved it.

I liked the film, animation was wonderful and it was amusing. =)
