Has anyone seen the clip, I believe at DL, where Pluto was chasing a kid? It was obviously not a friendly, playful chase. It appeared as though the mother actually stopped Pluto, and pushed him to the ground.
Perhaps I misinterpreted the whole thing, but if so the news people did as well. It didn't look good.

I saw the clip on "Tucker" on MSNBC earlier tonight.

This kind of talk got me in trouble the other day...but the problem with the clip is that you only see the chase and the push. You have no idea of the context or what happened before the clip starts.

It most cases I would agree, however it's hard to justify chasing a kid at top speed for that distance.

I don't know looks to me that Pluto could have caught the kid if he wanted to. Looks like he was just playing around and carried it a little too far. Notice you didn't see a handler come running up and take Pluto backstage plus the kid came right back up to Pluto at the end of the video. Its just another case of not getting the whole video from start to finish.

edit to add...just look at the buzz over that College kid getting tazzed at the Kerry event....now read this.

You may be right, but in the best light it's bad judgment on Pluto's part.
It's also hard to get past the way Pluto waves his finger at the mother. It just doesn't look playful if you ask me.

I didn't go to the tazer link, but I did see two different versions on the news. The abbreviated version made the kid look like a victim, but once you see the entire video...

i think this can go both ways....they might have been playing around, but someone took it the wrong way.. but pluto is running awfully fast if it was just a playful thing... but than again, his reaction when he loses the kid is kinda playful (the "oh noeeeesss" gesture)... until he got pushed.... it really is one of those things where you have to see both sides

I don't know. I saw he entire video, and whole the kid is being very disruptive, he did nothing to warrant being tazered. I think non-lethal weapons are one of the worst ideas in law enforcement; it is like spanking a child, and while it can be beneficial in the right circumstance, it is more likely to be overused and abused.

It doesn't appear that the woman who stopped Pluto is the Mom--there is another woman at the end of the video (after Pluto gets up after falling over the curb) that appears to be the mom--not clear if the two women were together or not.

How do you know that lady was his mother? Maybe it was just some lady who thought the kid was being harassed.

Wow. Not quite sure what to make of that. Never seen a character act like that. Looks like he was playing around and just got a little too carried away.

Not sure if she is the mother but if you watch at the very end two women appear the one that pushed and another, there are also two kids dressed just alike the one being chased and another. Both of them walk right up to Pluto again. So I'm still not thinking there was anything bad going on. Looks like they were part of a group or people that just like to dress their kids up the same.

I guess I assumed that the woman holding the hand of the one kid, who is dressed the same as running boy, was the mom, but maybe it is as you say and the two women are together. The running boy clearly comes back around Pluto next to the second woman, but I don't know if I'd say he "walked right up to Pluto" again.

Apparently the kid does not think so.

Worst ideas? Really? Wow just Wow.

Are you in law enforcement?

I can think of a lot worse ideas..........

Right..nothing worse then only have a choice of fist fighting a suspect or shooting them.

I know it's off topic but as per the taser incident:
The kid was being a smartass and removing him was justifiable. But the police tasered him while he was on the ground and allegedly already handcuffed. No need for a taser at that point as he poses no threat.

Regardig the Pluto tape:

Looks playful to me until that other woman decided to hurt Pluto.... I think Pluto thought the kid was Michael Vick in disguise, and instead of going to Bad Newz Kennels, he chased the kid....
