Just rode TSM at DCA - AP Sneak Preview **PICS ADDED**

Friday was a CM preview day, so they had the queue open and Mr. Potato Head working. It was pretty cool. I can't wait to see it in August.

The one and *only* bummer was that Mr. Potato Head was covered up, but I'm assuming he'll stay that way until the press arrives this weekend.

I don't know - he was up and running all day Saturday when I was there! He was pretty funny, too - we sat for about an hour watching him and casting envious glances at the cast members who were there for the preview. Eventually, we found someone to take pity on us and let us ride - and it was awesome! Can't wait for it to open!

The pix are so cute!! Thanks!! Only 4 months and 3 weeks until we can ride!!!

Did anyone notice if there was a Single Rider Entrance?

Thanks!

Yeah, I'm curious about that too. I'm sure they didn't have Single Rider open for the AP preview, but does anyone know if they'll have it once the ride is officially open?

We rode TSMM on Monday at about 2 pm and I can tell you why Mr. Potato Head was covered up! We saw him talking and moving and he made the joke about trading his ear for someone else's, and then when he tried to put his ear back in, it didn't line up and the ear fell on the ground! It was so weird to watch . . . Mr. Potato Head just kind of went dead after that, and a CM finally came over and picked up the ear off the ground and they put it in a drawer by one of the ride controllers.

As far as the ride goes, I'm in full agreement with everyone else that this is an AMAZING ride. It is soooo soooo much better than Buzz. I love how fast the cars move and the 4-D technology on the ride is just incredible.

Hope everyone else who gets to go has an awesome time on the ride!

Awww. Poor Mr. Potato head. So sad. :worried: That would have been weird to watch though. I would have been freaked out. :scared1:

Since we missed our AP preview (today) we're going next Friday and just am going to line up before opening at MAD DASH over to TSM. Woo!

I had read that there were no FP machines being installed so I looked around when we were there to confirm. Sure enough, I didn't spot any around the ride. Looks like it's going to be LOOOOONG lines for the first few months. :( I've noticed that the FP return times at BLAB are relatively close to the current time (like if we're there at noon, the machines are giving out FP's for 12:45 - 1:45). I think a lot of people would prefer to get FP's for the E-ticket rides, so they're probably assuming the same would eventually happen with TSM.

To be honest, though ~ even though we're AP holders, the ride was so much fun that I'd be willing to wait in line to ride again!

Well and I have to say that even with fastpass at Studios last week the waits were sometimes a half hour. Its a slow loader so on this one fastpass cuts your time by about two thirds to a half. So if the line is two hours you can wait as long as an hour. The standby lines at Studios were as long as 120 miutes last week.

I am bummed that it won't have fp at DCA but as you say, in time as things settle down, the lines probably won't be as bad. Its a great ride!

Oh and que at MGM is very cute too, but its inside an older attraction so they had to sort of work around that. They did have these very cute Candy Land, View Master and Tinker Toys displays. But no Mr. Potato Head that I remember.

Thanks for the TSM pictures!
5 more days and we'll get to ride it.
We'll check on Manday the 16th when we arrive if there is a soft opening.

Thanks, everyone, for all the nice comments!! I hope you all get a chance to ride and that you enjoy it as much as we did!!

Oh my gosh!!!! Half of me feels bad and the other half can't help but crack up picturing that whole scene!! I'm so glad a fellow DIS'er was there to come back and share that!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Thank you! :rotfl:

Got to ride it today. Awesome ride!!! Much much much better than expected. The neat thing was we got to ride it 3 times. When we first arrived (around 11:30) the ride was down, DH and I went to have lunch, When we got back the ride was running and it was only a 15 minute wait. After the first time, we asked if we could ride it again, They said we could as long as there was not a long line. So we tried it two more times. My DH could not get enough of it. Now we are going to WDW next week. We will definately try it out there. Highly recommend it

Thanks for the added pics & reports. I'm excited about riding this attraction!

DangerMouse -- that is so sad & funny in a twisted sort of way.

That sounds (and looks!) cool!

Thanks for the reports and the pics!

We were very disappointed not to have been chosen and get that glorious email but were lucky enough to get on the ride first thing Monday morning. (Thanks to a very kind Cast Member).

I agree with what everyone has already posted. The ride was much better than I had expected and I was very grateful to have been able to go on it when we did. We were celebrating my son's birthday (the day before), so this was a great birthday treat for him.

As a family, we love AstroBlasters and always go on it several times during each trip - TSM was so much fun, it will surely be added to our "Must Do" list each trip.

We had our turn on the 9th from 10 to 3pm, not that busy. Then 4 to 9pm slot got much more busier than day. First friend won and then me. Honestly you just had to go in and search the website of Disney and you would of saw the entry area to enter. My other friend got an email saying enter here for a preview, she forward it to me and I click and enter in my info and they sent me an email. I went in and did a search and saw where any annual passholder could of entered. I truly think that all who enter got an email, its seems that way as I talked to people. Anyway I had no idea we were aloud to ride over and over again in our time slot from 10 to 3pm. We did not learn this until our 4pm slot, so at that time we rode it 7 times, my kids and I loved it. I did get a picture of them putting back Mr. Potato Head's Ear after fixing him. I noticed they pulled the curtain towards the end when they had to fix him again. There is a curtain that goes all the away around the stage like area he stands on. I am going to try to upload pictures of earless ta toe.
I cannot figure out how to post pictures but I will try.

We were there on Saturday during the cast member preview. It was our last day and DS was celebrating his birthday. We didn't know it was a special event till we walked up. Started talking to the CM there. She gave us a magical moment and we got to ride:mickeyjum

All I can say is...IT'S AWESOME!!!

We previewed it yesterday! Great ride. We rode it 7 times from 1:30-3:30 (they were letting 10-3 tix holders ride until 4 :goodvibes ).

We watched Mr PH and he didn't remove his ear. Earlier in the day we were talking to a few Dream Makers (no dreams for us though) and one told us that during the CM preview, Mr PH dropped his ear and couldn't put it back on! I would love to see that!

I'm glad we got to preview it yesterday as our AP exp. today and with it costing about $580 to renew for the 2 of us, and more than $20 in gas to get there, we won't be renewing our passes for awhile. :confused3

I know it's sad, I was thinking the same thing about gas and all, maybe Disneyland resort will see a difference in people renewing and think up some idea as a deal. I doubt it. I was going sooo much with my kids, now its twice/3 times a month since this mess.
I really want to post my earless PH picture but I can not figure out how to do it. Still learning
