We returned from our 9 night trip to Riverside on Saturday. We had never stayed at this resort, but we will definitely be back. We loved it. The theming is perfect for us and while it is a large resort, it is very relaxing. I had requested AB building 14, but when we checked in there were no rooms in 14. We ended up in building 24-room 2438. It was perfect! We did have a standard view and we were facing a parking lot, but who cares? The rooms were spotless and mousekeeping was very thorough. Our building was right next to the quiet pool and parking. The west depot was just a short walk away. The only thing I would do differently was upgrade to a waterview and wait for a first floor room. The resort is very quiet and beautiful. We ate at Boatwright's (yummy) and had drinks at the River Roost. I know that Riverside is classified as a Downtown Disney resort, but really it is just as close to MK. The location can't be beat. We look forward to our next trip to Riverside.

I'll be there in March and I've requested the same building (14 or 18, that is). It's been so long since I've been there and I can't wait to see how the landscaping has matured. All I knew, was that it was going to be gorgeous in about ten years and I'll soon find out if I was right!

I've battled back and forth about the view and having been there once with a standard and once with a waterview, I stuck with the standard. My waterview was awesome though. Absolutely gorgeous! I am however having a hard time justifying the extra cost, considering the price per night will then be what I was paying for WL during our previous December trips.

I have such good memories of DL... er, POR and I can't wait to see it again!

I love that resort. We are going for a quick trip this weekend. I love the convience of the water taxi to DTD. Glad you had a great trip.

I was there the same time and enjoyed it for the most part.

We were just a spit and a throw from the East depot, which is the last bus stop. So, perhaps my views were tempered by that, but it seemed that lots of people stay at this resort and the busses both coming and going to the parks were frequently very crowded. I really don't like waiting at MK or any park late at night for busses and they seemed to fill up easily.

So, if that is something you also don't enjoy, a smaller resort might be in order.

Also, there was no rhyme or reason as to whether the French Quarter was on the stops or not. Sometimes, they had their own busses, other times, they were lumped in with Riverside.

Our Mousekeeping was spotty at best. The floors looked really dirty; I don't think they vaccuum much. In general, the beds were made, the trash was collected and the bathroom stuff was cleaned, but it wasn't as good as some hotels I have stayed in.

About the bathrooms, we had four people and you have a little ledge above the sinks, but other than that, there isn't much storage there. My daughter's dop kit kept falling into the sink.

DH and I were at POR 11/1-11/8. Our fourth stay there and our first time with water view. I think we are hooked on the water view from now on! Really felt like we were in the middle of things - other times we had view of parking lot. We were very close to the quiet pool and had a corner room on the first floor. Can't wait to go back!! :Pinkbounc

Hi there, I'm glad you enjoyed your stay.

We were just there in October and loved the resort.

Did you get a chance to see Piano Bob? :cool1:

We did not get to see Piano Bob, but that is definitely on our list of to-dos for next trip! By the way, we loved the location of being so near the West Depot because we were the first picked up and usually the second dropped off. Can't recommend Building 24 highly enough!

Just a FYI building 18 is a smoking building so unless you want smoking then make sure that you request 14 otherwise they will put you in 18 to occupy a room. I use to work there I know the system very well!!!
