Just returned from POR. Wonderful resort. We were pleasantly surprised at the bus service - never waited more than ten minutes I'd say. We met the bus at the front of the hotel and the next 3 stops within POR were usually very quick. Only had to stand when we left the parks after EMH. The food court and restaurant are excellent. Nice bar area. Large arcade area for kids and it's kept very clean. Plenty of places to sit outside on benches or tables. Pools never really crowded. Beautiful resort. Love the walk along the river. The boat ride to DD is relaxing. Again, we didn't have to wait very long for the boat to arrive.
We checked in at 9 a.m. and had a choice of two rooms in the Mansions as I requested. We stayed in Paterre - the room, while good-sized was not as nice - as "elegant" as I had hoped (very ordinary furniture, stains on carpet and walls) - and the maid service was the worse we've ever experienced as a Disney resort, but it still couldn't diminish the great things about the resort. Plenty to do and very conveniently laid out. We've previously stayed at CS and CBR and this is our new favorite.
