Just returned from Pop Century

We just returned from Pop Century last night (we drove). I had the $59 postcard rate. I think it was wonderful. We did not go to any theme park (husband had job interviews and we had to inspect our house which is under construction) therefore I had time to check out the resort. The food court is great with frozen cokes and the resort has those interactive fountain things for the kids to run through. We stayed in the 80's building on the second floor. The icons were very cute and allowed for good photos. Bus service was great as one day my 8 year old and I rode transportation almost all day. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. We were not disappointed.

Great to hear the bus transportation was okay. We were kind of worried since it was a newer resort, it would be really crowded. We've got ressies for Sept.

We just returned from a week at Pop - bus service was fine and was not shared with any other resort. (See my post, "Just returned June 21-25" for a complete report!) We never waited more than 10 minutes going to the parks, and never waited more than 15 minutes coming back in the early evening. We loved the Pop!

We stayed there last week for 2 nights on an AP rate to end our trip and everyone loved this place! It is very clean and the CM's are all very nice. We're just missing it now....................

We never waited more than 10 minutes going to the parks, and never waited more than 15 minutes coming back in the early evening.

Were the buses standing room only for these trips. I am concerned about this for our December trip. DD will only be 2 1/2 and it will be nearly impossible to stand up and hold her etc.

Well yes, they were frequently standing room only, but then I also frequently saw people giving up their seats to folks with small children (small kids sat on laps to make more seats available to others). I don't think I ever saw really little kids having to stand or be held by standing parents. Also - the Pop's buses are not shared with any other resort so, while they're frequently crowded, there's only one stop and it's always a short trip.

In 5 days, we came across 1 bus that was standing room. My son and I waited for the next one (We were going from Pop to Epcot).

My DH had GREAT luck on his job interviews. He had 4 interviews and 4 job offers! He is a nurse---sometime, I think I'm in the wrong field.

Just to comment on the buses we were there from June 5 - 19 and never waited too long for a bus either. Sometimes there was standing room only, but you can always wait for the next bus. We opted for that a few times since we had a 1 yr old and a 3 yr old and it was never more than 10-15 min before the next bus came. Whoever was holding one of the kids was usually offered a seat, which was nice but not expected since we could have waited. Once I got stuck holding the 3 yr. old leaving AK, but it was raining and we wanted out of there so didn't want to wait for another bus.

It is nice with just one bus stop with Pop unlike most other Disney resorts.

About the foodcourt...I forgot to add:

The mom's meatloaf dinner was great! It is served in a TV dinner looking aluminum foil pan. That was my favorite meal.

My 2nd favorite: The roast beef panili sandwich from the food court! Awesome.

Did you like being in the 80s building? How was the walk to the food court and buses? My DS wants to stay in the 80s section because he loves Pac Man.
