Hi I just returned from my wonderful honeymoon at the POlynesian. I have never stayed on site before and it was fabulous. If any of you have any questions about WDW or the Poly, please don't hesitate to ask.

Was there any visible damage remaining from Hurricane Charley??? Which longhouse did you stay at???

We are staying at the Poly for the first time ever (have stayed at all the deluxes except Poly CR) and am very anxious.

We stayed on the third floor of Tokelau. It was great, we had a view of the quiet pool area. I'm not the sort of person to moan about views because I don't go to Disney to spend all my time in the room, I know some moan if they can't see the castle, but we had no problem.

All the CMs were great while Charley happened (yes we WERE there when the eye of the storm passed over us) the only damage really that we could see was to trees and foliage. A tiny corner of the roof of Captain Cook's had come away, but no real damage. It was our first time ever on site and after visitning the other deluxe resorts, we decided that we wouldn't stay anywhere else.

Enjoy your stay.

Congrats Stitch!!

You may have been in our room that we had in July. Third Floor - overlooking the quiet pool. Isn't that a wonderful location?

The Poly is sooooo wonderful and a great place for a honeymoon.

I wanna' go back!

I am taking my family for our first trip to WDW next June (I have been there before, but not the rest of the bunch). We are debating staying at the Poly, WL, or AKL. I prefer the Poly because of monorail access to the MK. My kids are 5 & 9 and we will be making several trips to MK. My question is what guest attitudes toward kids at the Poly are like. Is it more a romantic, secluded type place where kids being kids will draw disapproving looks? In anyone's opinion, would we be more comfortable with young kids at WL or AKL than the Poly? Just hate to give up the quick access to MK, but don't want to be drawing looks whenever we're at the resort. Costs too much for that! Thanks!

Glad you had such a great trip and discovered the magic of the Polynesian! What were some of your favorite things about the resort?

Jalva22, I'm sure Stitch will reassure you too but the Polynesian is a great place for families. AKL and WL are too but I agree about the transportation being better at the Polynesian. At any rate, your family will fit right in!

Jalva22, don't worry, there are loads of kids being kids there. However, there were also loads of unsupervised kids being kids which we did not approve of. I teach 6 & 7 year olds and love kids (although i don't have any of my own yet) and I don't mind kids acting around etc. but please please on behalf of all couples there, make sure you know where they are and what they are up to.

Have a great time.
