Just Returned from CBR

Just back from 6 nights at CBR with my wife, our 6yr old and 3yr old and I must say it was a great experience.
I'm probably one of the more hyper-critical (and at the same time most understanding) guest a resort can have, although not with Disney, I've got 20+ years experience in Hospitality including the last 8 with a family orientated large resort company.
With that said, Disney is king...
The resort, although lacking in-room amenities that almost all hotels consider standard (working internet, let alone free wireless, flat screen TV, digital safe, etc), was impeccably clean, soft goods and case goods were reasonably updated, kids activities were plentiful, mousekeeping was great and every staff member we came in contact with was outstanding. We never waited more than 10 minutes for a bus and we found our location in Barbados to work very well for us.
All in all, I'm a fan of CBR... this was our first 'real' family vacation and my first trip to Disney as a father and we will be back.

I'm glad you enjoyed your trip, as well as your stay at CBR. It is my favorite resort. I just booked another trip for July and we are again staying at CBR. I wish I would have kept track over the years as to how many times we have stayed there - probably around 15 times. I never get tired of it.

I'm so glad to hear another great post about the CBR. We stayed there in 206 and in 2007. We would love to stay there in just two weeks but another family is traveling with us and they must stay at a value resort. So, it'll be Pop for us this time around. I am sure we will be booking another stay at the CBR next year 'cause we'll want to see the new pool!

Would you mind sharing some details about the attractions that you visited at the parks? Your kids are about the same age as mine (2 boys) and would like to hear about what they enjoyed the most at the parks.

I'm so happy you had such a great stay at CBR.

We just booked a surprise trip for the kids (DH is running the 13K Tower of Terror Race) and finally were able to give CBR a try. I've always wanted to stay there but usually the price of two rooms (family of 5) was the same as a deluxe so DH insisted upon the deluxe (not that I objected). This time were were able to get a good special rate for the race for 2 rooms at CBR was about $60 day less than Boardwalk - so we added an extra day. I know my kids are dying to try out the new Pirate Ship pool at CBR!

Im gonna stay down there later this year after the new pool opens up. Im really picky about construction.

We just recently returned from 9 days at POR and loved it. We have now stayed at 3 moderates - POR, POFQ and CBR - and of the moderates, we think CBR is our favorite, for a variety of reasons. POR and POFQ very nice, but we just prefererred CBR looking back now. Looking forward to trying CSR soon to rate all 4 moderates.

Glad to hear you had a good time.....my dd and I will be there (at CBR) on Monday!!!!!!! I know it is a great resort....I was there solo in September....and had a great time!!!!!!! She and I wanted to try POFQ, but no such luck.....Oh well, I know we will have a great time at CBR....she is really excited too!!! She hasn't been to WDW since 03.....
